For those who missed it, +Alton Brown did a fantastic AMA on Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1ezj1c/im_alton_brown_i_cook_stuff_and_write_and_shoot/

I can't wait until he launches his new YouTube channel. I've been suffering from Good Eats withdrawal

Guess I didn't actually get a ticket. The IO team finally replied to my email basically saying "Sorry our registration process messed up, but we can't give you a ticket."

Is it just me, or are ravioli the cutest of pastas?

Looks like I'm not going to Google IO after all. Even though I got a ticket 3 times, Google wallet wasn't able to take my money. Here's the official response I got:

Hi Sean,

Tickets for Google I/O 2013 have sold out. We understand that you experienced issues with our registration process. If you weren’t shown the registration form during the registration process, the process did not complete, and we apologize that we are unable to provide you a ticket to this year’s conference.  We see that the charge to your account has already been cancelled.

We hope that you will join us for the live stream of the keynote, top sessions and our special Google Developers Live @ I/O programming.

Watch our Google Developers page for future updates on Google I/O. In the next few days we’ll be posting more on how to join a viewing event with I/O Extended. #io13

Best Regards,
Google I/O Team

Alright. It's that time of year again. Time to hope and pray that I get an IO ticket. 5 minutes until registration opens!

Hi Sean. I think food bloggers are great. Food blogs can become like a community all in it's own, getting  others to follow then comment on their recipes. It helps others gain friends from all over the world that share the same love of food that they do. They give everyone that visits the opportunity to learn something new. Had they not posted a recipe, we'd have to figure it out for ourselves. Maybe too, not as many people would get into cooking with out food blogs because they wouldn't know how.

Having said that, I'm a bit odd in respect to food blogs. I tend to skip all the carefully written prologue to a recipe and just get to what I'm there for. You know like, What ingredients are in the recipe? Do I have those ingredients in my pantry? How long does it take to  cook the  dish and do I have the proper equipment? The picture of the food is helpful too, because it helps me know what it will look like.

Any favorite recipes for homemade pasta? I just got a pasta maker and I'm looking for things to do with it.

I haven't made a ton of pasta, but do use a pasta roller quite frequently to make wonton wrapper for dumplings. They are pretty simple. Just 1 cup of flour with 1/3 cup of liquid (water or veggie juice) mixed, kneaded, then rested for 30 minutes. I roll them into a cane, then cut the cane into 24 nuggets. Roll the nuggets into balls, flatten, then press through the roller. Viola!

I got a pasta maker for Christmas so I tried my hand at making some homemade pasta. I think it came out pretty good!

I'd love to get a homemade pasta-maker. I bet it would come as as great as yours looked.
