Does your company have a policy on space heaters? Not only can they cause fire and most people keep them too close to other objects, but they are a huge drain on energy. They also cause decreased productivity because as one person tries to get warm, another is too hot; all the while, the thermostat is confused.

Do you know which way is east right now? If not, you should make it a point to always know where you are and your directions since most emergency notifications that require action will contain some directional verbage.

We have had a lot of questions on what to do in case of nuclear attack.  In short, you can't do much about the attack.  But you can keep supplies on hand in case you find shelter (which should be below ground).  One supply that is not often thought about is water.  Keep water and keep water purification tablets on hand since water will be contaminated!

Most High-Rise fires are contained to one unit/area. However, the water and smoke damage can be extensive. While not always the case, fires are small enough to be extinguished by a 5lb Fire Extinguisher (small one) when discovered.

Unfortunately, while most Americans have them, they have no idea how to use it so they end up leaving their unit.
