NewsChannel 9 WSYR-TV has announced that beginning Monday, September 15 it will expand upon the station’s award-winning local news programming with the launch of the market’s first 4:00 p.m. newscast: NewsChannel 9 – First at Four.

According to the Sheriff’s Office the following people were killed: Kimberly Hilliard, 35 ; her daughter, Paris Newman, 4 months old; Virginia Warner, 70; Arnie Allen, 53

The Stanley Cup made a brief stop in Ithaca this morning as part of a fundraising effort: http://bit.ly/1j5bzTd

Dustin Brown, an Ithaca native and captain of the L.A. Kings, was in town and posed for this picture with Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick. 

All money raised will benefit various Ithaca charities including the Ithaca YMCA playground project and restoring the Cass Park Rink.

Syracuse Police have arrested a woman who they believe was behind the wheel during a hit-and-run crash on Burnet Avenue that sent a 6-year-old child to the hospital in critical condition.

Police charged Amy Dejohn, 23, of Fremont Road in East Syracuse with felony leaving the scene of a serious personal injury crash, along with multiple traffic violations.

NewsChannel 9 WSYR-TV is the ABC affiliate covering Syracuse and Central New York. The station began broadcasting on September 9, 1962. Throughout our more than 50-year history, the station has always been strongly committed to the community. We produce the top rated local news programming in Central New York. Working together for more than 25 years, our main news anchors, Carrie Lazarus and Rod Wood, are one of the longest running anchor teams in the country.
