Fantastic food, usually go with my veggie/vegan friends (I'm veggie) who are very well catered for. Good service, nice people, and some of the most flavoursome food I've had in a curry house.

I have eaten at The Balti House a number of times and it has always been a pleasure. The food is full of flavour (unlike some indian restaurants that seem content to water things down) with generous portions and is very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable with polite attentive staff and for what it lacks in decor (for some) it more than makes up for it in terms of quality of food and the service you get eating in a smaller restaurant. Highly recommended - if you are in Nottingham check it out

Just back from a visit to the refurbished Balti House. They still make the best curry in Nottingham. The Jalfrezi I just had was amazing and the mixed platter starter was out of this world - I could have had a big plate just full of those samosas and I would have been a happy chap. Great value too, even skin flint me payed for my mate

Balti House Nottingham. In the early eighties we sometimes used to call in for a meal after finishing work at Isabellas (I used to DJ there) this was when I first got to know Sam the owner. My visits since those times have unfortunately been infrequent. I decided to catch up with Sam again on Friday night 14th October after we had seen Paddy McGuinness at the Arena. It was my first visit seen the refurbishment and we were impressed with the surroundings, food and service - all excellent. Great to see Sam again and I promised not to leave it so long again. A bit disappointed to see a recent negative review but we all have off days. I think the toilet 'issue' is more of an appearance and attention to finishing detail rather than hygiene, I'm sure Sam will address this.

My husband came across an article describing this as the oldest indian in Nottingham so suggested we try it. We are drawn to character and individuality of independent eateries and this sounded right up our street. My cauliflower starter was a surprise, it looked like a few pieces of pakora with some salad thrown onto the side and seemed to lack presentation and garnishing but I was taken aback by how tasty it was. The filling virtually melted in my mouth and was spiced to not completely overcome taste of cauliflower but yet be really really tasty. Saag Paneer main course is always a favourite choice of mine at indian restaurants but this was absolutely delectable. Tasty sauce and a very ‘fresh’ overall impression. This restaurant is an absolute treat, every item we ordered was top marks.

Balti House Nottingham: Please Do not go there!!! After reading the reviews we thought sounds great but this must be the worst place i have ever eaten. We love Indian Food and we have eaten all over the uk even and abroad so please do not go there. There must be somthing going on with the reviews also been fooled here i think so here we go: The place was supposed to be refurbished yeah what the sign outside as to me the place was horrible both the Ladies & Gents was filthy i would not sit on the toilet seat as it was absolutely dirty and we were the first couple in there, ladies toilet was like a swamped floor. The doors were terrible with 1 coat of like white matt paint that was see through no effort, what about a coat of GLOSS??. My Plate arrived and was not clean i picked something off the edge of it also my Glass was not clean not a great start, sometimes you have to try the little Curry Houses on the side streets we should of stuck with the One behind the Theartre or went to the Curry Lounge but this place was awful. The waiter kept looking as though the Chef had died the night before and he was thinking how were they going to get this sizzling dish thing working. the service was rubbish by him and when the curry come to the table the Naan was below average nothing special considering they are supposed to be the only place with a proper Tandoor Oven rice was not good and very oily. Chic Tik Jalfrezi was like almost black sauce with nothing in it apart for some onion and a few tiny tiny pieces of chicken about the size of one of your finger nails, the sizzling dish exactly the same, shocking curry and very very poor standard nothing in it. He said there would be fresh chillies but nothing and the meat was not even Tikka. The Menu Card was also grubby and when i asked what dishes are Balti he replied they are all Balti, somehow i cannot see that in the discription on the menu. No never again so save yourself and do yourself a favour do not use this Restaurant as they are COWBOYS not INDIANS and go up the town. Good luck. What a JOKE place Verdict 0000000.Points the place should be reported!! and shut down. so much for reading these reviews.

Well what can i say, The Balti House Tandoori Restaurant on Heathcote Street in Nottingham has to be the best Tandoori Indian Cusine Restaturant i have been to in Nottingham. I went to the restaurant and had been welcomed by the staff who are very polite and customer the service was excellent. As iam a indian food chef myself i can tell you that the food quality was absolutely superb. spot on and my compliments go out to the chef's that work there. if your thinking of going for an indian cusine then i would strongly recommend that you go to the The Balti House Tandoori Restaurant on Heathcote Street in Nottingham. I would give it 10 out of 10.
