Finally checked out this fried chicken spot in the heart of (the new) Culver City. Ever since, I've been trying to figure out how to get my fried chicken batter to make such crispy skin... Great chicken, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside; awesome biscuits, and flavorful sides. I do, however, wish the prices were a little bit more reasonable; but that's nothing less than what I would expect from downtown Culver City, and I'm never opposed to paying for food of this quality, especially when coming from an independent and local business. Props to Honey's Kettle, I'll definitely visit again and recommend to others.

Thank you so much for your support, Anacron. We appreciate you understanding the prices. You're right -- we're in a really expensive area and use only the very best ingredients. Hope to see you back again soon! -Honey's Kettle Team

Chicken and biscuits. If you go to Honey's Kettle and you want to make a fair judgment on your meal, those are the two things you need to get. While the restaurant somehow ends up being sticky because of the honey that sticks all over the place, Honey's Kettle is good for dining in or taking out. The biscuits are among the best in L.A. and the chicken is top 10. If you're craving fried chicken on the Westside, you'll have a tough time finding a better place than HK.

First impression left a lasting impression. They were about to close and still the order for our party. Food is by far the best since I came back to Cali. No offense to the other fried chicken establishments but they are not even in the same neighborhood. Hope the customer service continues and I will return for a very long time.

Came here with Stephanie P. late last year for lunch. I love fried chicken and I had been eager to try this place out since they were supposed to have some of the best fried chicken in LA. The great thing about Culver City is that they have public parking lots that provide free 2 hour parking. There were two such lots within walking distance of Honey's and my friend and I ended up parking in both of them (we drove separately). They have a pretty extensive menu here and we weren't sure what we should get to really take advantage of our visit here, so we asked the friendly lady behind the counter for help. I ended up ordering the 2 piece lunch combo. I got a breast and leg, and the combo comes with kettle fries, biscuits, and a sweet pickle. In addition to this combo, I also ordered a mini sweet potato pie. The lady recommended that we get our pie after our meal since it is best to eat them warm. We took our seats outside and waited for our numbers to be called. My order was ready first, but I realised halfway through taking pictures (as all good Yelpers do, but TBH it was for my Instagram haha) that my order was wrong. I had ordered a breast and a leg but somehow ended up with two breast pieces! I went back and showed them, so they gave me a leg piece. And that is how my 2 piece combo ended up as a 3 piece combo! Turned out they messed up Stephanie's order too, which is really weird considering we were the only two customers there at the time o.O But they fixed it so it wasn't really a problem. Finally time to eat the food! The chicken skin was great, so perfectly crispy, but the chicken itself was just good. This was sadly not going to be my favourite fried chicken (but that's a good thing because Culver City is too far for me haha). The biscuit was a bit disappointing for me compared to others that I have tried in the past. Don't get me wrong--the food here is good. It is just not as amazing as I had hoped it would be. I finished my two pieces... but I still had a breast piece left. Time to ask for a to-go bag! And wow, good thing we did, because otherwise we would have just left... WITHOUT our sweet potato pies! Thank you Megan (at least that's the name on my receipt) for reminding us that we had mini pies waiting for us! I brought it home to eat later since I was stuffed... and sadly, it was not very good. But it could be because we did not eat it fresh, to give them the benefit of the doubt. Either way, I can say that it is not that great when you eat it hoursssss later :/ Probably more of a 3.5 star place but going to round down to 3 since I just can't bring myself to give them 4...

Esther, as we said on Yelp, we're really disappointed that we didn't live up to your expectations. We know we can do better, so if you're ever in Culver City again, we truly hope we get another chance to make it up to you. In the meantime, we plan to take all your comments into account and make sure we improve where necessary. Thank you for giving us a shot and for this great feedback. -Honey's Kettle Team

Honey's Kettle is a Culver City classic. I've eaten here more than a dozen times, easily, and I am consistently impressed. The chicken is always very crispy and delicious, but the biscuits are to die for. The seasoned fries are pretty good, and my wife raves about the mashed potatoes. Quite often there is a line, but it always goes quick!

Reminded me of a favorite fried chicken place in the 70's they sold the business but not the recipe. I had been craving fried chicken for months now and you've hit it on the nail. I will be back. Thought of opening other areas like pasadena and downtown la?
Response from the owner - 4 months ago
Wow, Yvonne, it sounds like there was some nostalgia during your last visit, and that means a lot to us! We really appreciate your compliments on our fried chicken. Great suggestion on expanding to So-Cal -- it's something worth looking into. Hope to see you again soon! -Honey's Kettle Team
