The food here is good. The chicken is fried really "hard" though. It may be the batter on it. They have these amazing blueberry biscuits! You have to try them. The sweet potatoes are not that good, so don't get them. But the green beans are great and so are the mashed potatoes. The lemonade is good, but they charge almost $2 for a refill.

First off, the chicken AND mashed potatoes/gravy are fantastic. BUT, it is a little pricey and the menu - well, it's a convoluted mess! Let me get this straight - I can get a 2 pce "lunch" meal WITH mashed potatoes AT dinnertime, but if I want a 3 pce - it comes with kettle fries, which can't be substituted? And if I want a 4 pce "dinner" meal, can I buy it at lunch? And does it come with biscuits or is that only availble with the 2 pce meal? The guy literally had to order a 2 pce meal with mash pots AND order of a "leg & a biscuit" to get me what I wanted...only for $15.88!? It's utterly ridiculous - you guys really need to clean this up. Simple: Offer a 2/3 or 4 piece meal - NO "lunch or dinner" moniker (charge extra for certain pieces, fine) plus ONE side - 3 prices; OR get 2 sides (ANY of them), 3 (higher) prices & all include ONE biscuit. Everything on the side also available as al a carte...BOOM! And as good as the food is - I really think 3 pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes & a biscuit (no drink) should be a bit closer to $12 AT MOST!

More like a 3.5/5. Chicken is better than Roscoe's, but I wouldn't drive out to Culver just for this. Not as fun of an experience as Roscoe's on pico, but in terms of food this place is better and more reasonably priced. I only came here because I wanted to try Tender Greens but the line was too long. I ordered the hotcakes and chicken breast + wing for around $7-8. The chicken portion was small but the meat was cooked pretty well, with the inside moist and not too much bread/fried skin. The combo of chicken and hotcakes was perfect especially with loads of honey. I liked that they serve their honey hot as well! The meal wasn't super filling, I wish they served more food but it's good to limit consumption of unhealthy food like this anyways. Tip: Don't try ordering the Sunday Brunch special on a day other than Sunday. It was Mega-Embarrassing

Well, we're really glad that you got the chance to try us out, Steven! It sounds like you really loved your food -- but we're sorry to hear that our atmosphere wasn't to your standards. Hopefully the delicious food can make up for that! -Honey's Kettle Team

Nice little liquor store & bar next door. Sandwiches look good, 20+ beers on tap, and friendly service. Will definitely return soon!

Hey Zelma, we think you may have the wrong business! We're a fried chicken restaurant on Culver Blvd. You should come check us out sometime! -Honey's Kettle Team

Reminded me of a favorite fried chicken place in the 70's they sold the business but not the recipe. I had been craving fried chicken for months now and you've hit it on the nail. I will be back. Thought of opening other areas like pasadena and downtown la?
Response from the owner - in the last week
Wow, Yvonne, it sounds like there was some nostalgia during your last visit, and that means a lot to us! We really appreciate your compliments on our fried chicken. Great suggestion on expanding to So-Cal -- it's something worth looking into. Hope to see you again soon! -Honey's Kettle Team

Today was my first time visiting your Culver City Store and I must say that the Customer Service was absolutely horrible at best. If I had not driven all the way from Palmdale to try it I would of walked out. The young man at the counter was Very Unpleasant as I told him that this was my first time He just looked at me with nothing. He Never welcome me or even help me with the menu. I'm not sure what your store policy is or how you train you employees but the first one they see should have a smile. It was so bad that I had to ask him if he was having a bad day as to the look on his face. He just looked at me, and to make matters more unpleasant the young lady that was working with him was the same way. She just looked at me as well and then they began to whisper to each other as if I was a joke or I did something wrong. I must say they did stick together in there Horrible way I was treated. This was my first time and I must say after this HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & $20.00 meal was NOT worth it. $20.00 for meal and it was not that good. If I ask for my order to go, shouldn't I at less get some napkins to go. To my disbelief when I arrived to my car, of course no napkins. After the Horrible Service why would I thing that you give to-go orders napkins. I don't think I'll EVER come back. I know that its no concern of yours and this most likely will not get any responds and its so sad that New customers have to endure this Horrible Service of such an well spoke of place. The only reason that I'm sending this to you threw your email is because your web-site will not allow me to send it. I'm not surprised.

Honey's gets a ton of press from all the deals they offer on your favorite couponing site. When I visited one day, it wasn't about the deals, but mostly about being the only food place round these parts that looked unique, fast, and not too pricey. -=-Leg, thigh, fries, biscuit-=- First time here so I had to try the chicken. They offer combos and the one that I got seemed to be the most popular. So how do these compare to your favorite neighborhood fried chicken? It's still oily, just not as oily. For some reason, I thought I would get a honey-infused chicken, but it wasn't so. Just a name. Fries, nothing to scoff at. Biscuit, give me the others anyday. So, glad I tried this place. At least now I know there's nothing too overly special about the chicken here.

JR, sorry if we weren't exactly what you were expecting. While our chicken isn't honey infused, you shouldn't have to look far to find plenty to drown yours in. It sounds like you enjoyed the dish, but it could have stood out a little more. That's something I think we can do, and I'd love a second chance at making that happen. - Honey's Kettle Team

The biscuits here are delicious! They are seasoned so well. I really liked their Blueberry Pancake and Chicken Breast combo. The syrup and hot honey they offer made the experience great. The bathrooms are very clean and the staff is very attentive.

Steven, glad to hear you're such a fan of our biscuits! Nothing beats the sweet of syrup and hot honey with the savory of fried chicken and biscuits. Hope to see you for some real soon. - Honey's Kettle Team
