The Gino’s East story began in 1966 when two taxi drivers and a friend, frustrated with rush hour traffic, decided to open a pizzeria just off Michigan Ave. and Superior St. in Chicago. The Original Gino’s East became an instant legend with local Chicagoans, national celebrities and visitors from around the world.

I was staying in Chicago, so I had to right? First off, the atmosphere here is great. The crowd is upbeat and the design of the place is really cool with writing all over the walls. I tried a few of the pizzas as I was with a large group, and they were all really good. My favorite was the Chicago Fire. The deep dish is definitely not what I'm used to being from Jersey. Be aware that these things take a while to cook, so get some drinks and appetizers while you're waiting (but not too many appetizers, these pies are filling). If you're exploring some real Chicago deep dish pizza options, add Gino's to the list.

A really good experience. I had the Fish and Chips and the fish was some of the best I've had. A fun location, fun atmosphere, quick service (we went for pizza but that had an hour wait; very happy with the other food we ordered), a relatively cheap for what you can spend in Chicago.

We ordered meaty legend deep dish pizza. The place is cool and food is good. However, our waiter is not very friendly. We asked him to check on our order and he said he doesn't have to since it will come out when it's ready. I had to call a different waiter to get my drink refill.I think the place needs to train their employees again.

Really good deep dish pizza. Be sure to go there when you're really hungry. I was able to eat only two slicces of pizza, they are very filling. Nice and friendly staff.

If you are booking an office event, Ashley Flando, is an absolute doll! She is incredibly accommodating, efficient, and enthusiastic about her craft. The food arrived just as my director had ordered and wanted and made our mini event at work incredible! Thank you very much for your patience and clarity with me!

waited two hours on the pizza. Waitress only filled our drinks up once in the whole hours. Pizza was dry. Waitress was a b*tch! Honestly the experience was just laughably bad. Good food, but make sure you have a lot of patience and a whole evening to waste!

While I have only dined in once at Gino's East, I have had takeout/delivery many times due to others that enjoy ordering it. I cannot speak to the deep dish pizza (as that's not my thing), their thin crust pizza leaves me wanting - but not for more. The overall flavors are bland, the crust is uninspired, and the pepperoni and sauce are boring. It's pizza, but it's not worth the price of admission when there are many other shows in town.
