The Gino’s East story began in 1966 when two taxi drivers and a friend, frustrated with rush hour traffic, decided to open a pizzeria just off Michigan Ave. and Superior St. in Chicago. The Original Gino’s East became an instant legend with local Chicagoans, national celebrities and visitors from around the world.

Not sure what everyone is complaining about. Is the wait ridiculously long? YES, always. Why??? Because it's GOOD FOOD. Every time my wife and I find ourselves in Chicago, we HAVE to stop at Gino's East. This is the best one, in our humble opinions. We go planning to wait at least an hour to get in, and another hour or so just to get our food. This is not a quick experience, and we expect that heading over there. We enjoy the scenery, people watching, and have a couple pints of brew whilst waiting for our pizza and garlic knots. Some of the best deep dish we've had. Are there places even better? Probably.. but not where we're from (Nashville). Our mouths water every time we think about eating here. We'll be back, for sure.

I've been coming here since the late 80's & the pizza still tastes the same. Worth the time to stop in from out of town but a second place in taste to Ricobene's.

Tourist trap. Not an ounce of the former glory remains. Might as well throw a frozen pizza in your oven and save the disappointment.

It was a good pie. I knew it would be a long wait so I was ok with that. The service was friendly enough. Nobody seemed to care very much.

This place is awful. Before we order anything the cashier just told us we could not dine in, though there were plenties of empty space. And 45mins average waiting for any pizza! We ordered soda and the vending machine looks horrible, everything is adulterating with too much water ! We informed the manager if we could just change the soda to water. She told us "it is sweet, ur guys have bad taste" :( this is the most retarded answer I ever heard in my life. *Warning* If you are new in Chicago, do not go this place!

The heaviest, thickest pizza- the south knows nothing about this. It was loaded down with meats in a deep dish. The pizza does not break or slide the topping off when you pick up a piece! It was absolutely delicious and filled my car with the most lovely Italian aroma. It's a must on your trip to chicago.

Lived up to all the reviews. Split a med deep dish meat lovers between 3 people and the girls could only eat one piece. The downfall is the 55 min wait fir the pizza once you order. So the calamari held us over. Thanks Gino

A staple of the Chicago pizza scene, Gino's has been around a really long time. Known for their corn meal crust, but the pizza is only okay. Service was really slow, and the place was a zoo. Tourists love coming but I think there are much better deep dish places...like Lou Malnatis

Gino's East hasn't shared anything with you.

People are more likely to share with you if you add them to your circles.
