Every year, hundreds of thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the United States flock to the small town of Sturgis, South Dakota for the 10-day #motorcycle run.

“When hundreds of thousands of motorcyclists take to #SouthDakota roadways, the accident risk increases. Those who participate in #Sturgis should do their best to practice safe riding habits. In the event of a crash caused by someone else’s negligence, it’s best to consult with an attorney who can help maximize your compensation so you can focus on recovery.”
- According to the #SiouxFalls car accident attorneys at @Northern Plains Justice, LLP.

This year’s rally will take place from August 3rd-12th and over 500,000 riders are expected to attend. Last year, the event drew roughly a half-million people, with 376,000 vehicles entering the run.

However, a total of 68 accidents resulting in injury occurred, an increase of 18 crashes from 2016. Eight of those crashes resulted in fatal injuries, four of which were motorcyclists. Additionally, a total of 46 people were arrested on drug charges and 16 people were arrested for drunk driving.

Federal judge #JamesBoasberg put a block on Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (#ICE) illegal practice of detaining immigrants legitimately seeking asylum in the United States.

“Asylum seekers have the right to consult legal counsel.” - According to the #immigration attorneys at +Brown, Naegle, Crider & Jensen LLC

Typically when #immigrants seek asylum in the U.S., they must pass a “credible fear” screening, which determines if they will face #persecution in their own country because of their ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or other discriminatory factor. If they pass the screening and aren’t considered a flight risk or danger to the public, they are given humanitarian parole while they await a hearing.

Our office is proud to support the New York Whalers Charity hockey team. Their organization plays games against other law enforcement teams all over the state and sometimes nationally. Most of their games are to raise money for those law enforcement members injured or killed. On June 24, 2018, they played NYPD Hockey team at The Ice Rink at Bethpage Town of Oyster Bay to raise money for the families of two off duty officers who died in a car accident, PO Michael Colangelo & PO John Martinez.
Our office is honored to assist in this event. It is the least we can do for the families of our public servants who risk their lives daily to keep our communities safe.
