Water supply company Maputo opens training academy. The launch of the training academy for development of competencies and professional careers took place at FIPAG, the national water supply company in Maputo on 30 November 2018. The venue will be utilised for various types of short courses tailored for FIPAG staff and other parties in Mozambique and the SADC region.
Beyond this milestone, IHE Delft aims to continue strengthening collaboration with FIPAG and Rand Water, as future providers of education in urban water and sanitation in Southern Africa. Read more here http://ow.ly/qbYK30mWptI

In disaster areas where many people live together in poor conditions, diseases are lurking. Sanitation plays an important role – a hole in the ground or overflowing emergency toilets are breeding grounds for bacteria and viruses. If the flow of waste is better managed, the risk will be reduced and the quality of life will improve considerably. To address this issue IHE Delft and partners have envisioned an award-winning eSOS Smart Toilet, one that is not only hygienic, safe and affordable.

Every week, we will publish an IHE Delft #WaterInnovation on Tuesday. We have published a booklet with IHE Delft's innovations, have a browse here: http://ow.ly/9g7T30gKhEI

Staff in focus: Bianca joined us in November 2015 as Secretary of Environmental Engineering & Water Technology after her bachelor’s in European Studies. Along with her tasks, she also takes on project support. She grew up in Delft.

Fun fact: during winter, when she was younger, she played in the snow near the student accommodation Mina, and saw people playing in the snow as well. But the way they played was different. Little did she know that later in life, she would realize that they were from IHE Delft, experiencing snow for the first time.‘’ One of the best things about IHE Delft is that the world comes to you.’’ Read more here http://ow.ly/5O3H30lRUHb
