Union City Grille tops my list of recommended restaurants in Wilmington, DE. Chef Matt outdoes himself each and every time, always tantalizing tastebuds while taking it easy on the wallet. And when Frank's Wine Mart pairs up with UCG for a special event, look out - because you just can't beat it for product quality and pricing! The service is also outstanding, whether in the dining room or bar area. Stop by and see for yourself; you won't be disappointed!

Bland, overpriced food with no focus or coherent theme. Ordered the gnocchi gratin with "exotic" mushrooms and got an oily bowl of dense (pre-made?) gnocchi with clumps of goat cheese running through it. Oh, those exotic mushrooms from the menu? Plain old, everyday button mushrooms. My date got blackened salmon with rice and asparagus. The salmon was cooked well, but had zero flavor, as did the rice and asparagus. Our calamari starter was (again) cooked well, but tasted like it had been cooked in grease that had recently burnt something else. The only thing saving this restaurant from 1 star was the very attentive, polite waiter who gave excellent drink recommendations. Based on the cost of the main dishes (~$20) you're better served going someplace that seems to care about the food that goes onto your plate.

Food was bland and expensive. I have had better pasta from a can. I was expecting a treat for $17. What I got was a boring and very small portion of gnocchi. Oh yes, the bread was slightly stale. It was warm-stale though.

wish they could keep a chef more than 6 months. since each chef changes the menu, it is very difficult to recommend.

I had crab bisque , the flavor was good but very little crab , the filet was an 8 oz , it was on special but it had grissell in about a quarter of it . Since I have a choice I probably won't be back . The atmosphere and the waiter were good .

Yes, it is a bit expensive, and the food doesn't quite match the pricing, but it is far from being a bad place to go. The service and atmosphere has always been top-notch. Never had a bad meal there.
