How To Make Money From Your Blog (
Part 1: Beginners

If you have ever thought about being a professional blogger but were afraid that you would never be able to make money blogging or had no idea how to go about it, then this article is for you.

Successful bloggers diversify their income, meaning they make money from a variety of different sources.

If you’re willing to put forth the effort into blogging on a regular basis, and as you grow your audience and hone your skills, you can build multiple income streams to earn more and more money. To give a sense of that progression, the various blog income sources in this article are grouped by "beginners", "intermediate" and "advanced".

This article can help you determine the methods you’ll use to start making money immediately and identify anything you’d like to start working towards. Each item discussed will go over the pros and cons of the individual method, as well as give you some blogging tips that will help you on your way.

Before you get started, here are a few things to think about:

You will need traffic to see results.
This can be achieved by posting on a regular schedule, by reading and commenting on other people’s blogs, and by writing great content. These are basic "Blogging 101" and are the first steps towards building a following.

A personal journal is probably not going to make you money.
If you want to blog for a living, you need to focus your content on a specific subject, brand, or idea.

There is no such thing as a blog 'for everybody'.
You need to know what kind of audience you’re writing for. The more specific you can be when focusing on an audience, the bigger your audience will grow, because you’re speaking their language and giving them something they want to read.

The beginner portion of this article will cover the pros, cons, and tips for getting started with Affiliate Marketing and Display Ads.

The intermediate portion covers the pros, cons, and tips for Product and Service Sales, Freelancing and Paid Promotions – Sponsored and Underwritten Content.

The advanced portion covers the pros, cons, and tips for Building Your Brand, which can lead to product endorsements, speaking engagements and appearances, and collaborations with other successful businesses.

You can read ahead if you want, or just start with the beginner's portion. Please be sure to leave questions and comments for our guest author, Ms. Kitty Lusby, on the article.

5 Top Blogging Tips

We wanted to give this post a reshare in case you missed it the first time around!

You have probably heard blogging described as "part art, part science" ... and we definitely believe that is true! Because of this, there really is no "right way" or "wrong way" when it comes to blogging; however, there are some "top tips" that we have picked up along the way that we thought might be helpful for those of you just getting started.

1) Build an Email List
From Day 1, you are going to want to begin capturing email addresses of the people that are reading your blog. Offer them something of value, such as a free downloadable checklist, in order to entice them to sign up. Remember, even if you don't plan on selling anything, having your own email list allows you to communicate directly with your readers in a way that social media cannot.

2) Blog for the Audience You Want
It can be difficult to stay motivated when you have very little (or even no) traffic; however, you need to blog for the audience you want to have in the future. Realize that your stats may be fairly flat for months or even years ... and it will take a consistent effort over time before they start to grow.

3) Don't Hold Back ... Be the Expert
Don't be afraid to give away your best tips, your best advice, your knowledge. Be the expert and you will soon find that others are recommending you as the authority in your niche.

4) Be Proud of Your Work
Rather than just pump out dozens or even hundreds of quick articles that offer little value to the reader, take pride in your work. Make sure that ALL of your posts are well-written and worthy of your audience's attention.

5) Keep it Consistent
There are studies that show that those who blog consistently gain more subscribers than those who do not. It is the same with posting on social media ... consistency is the key. Pick a blog publishing schedule that you can stick with on a regular basis, even if it is just one post per week. Publish it on the same day and time each week and email your list to let them know that you have published a new post. Make it a process ... and do it consistently.

With so many hosting companies to choose from, you need to be sure you're picking the very best hosting solution for your website. (

We wanted to give this post a reshare in case you missed it the first time around! Here are seven tips to help you choose a winner:

1) Look for a Commitment to Service
A winning hosting company offers more than disk space, bandwidth, and email boxes ... make sure they have a high commitment to providing outstanding customer service. Here is what one of our customer's had to say:

" has hosted our company's website for about 5 years and it has proven to be a reliable host. But there's nothing special about that, we could obtain that from any number of service providers. The aspect that makes special is the level of technical support we always receive from them. Every enquiry is answered within 24 hours (at most), and the answer is correct and understandable. We wouldn't go anywhere else." - James Shippen, February 15, 2017

2) Look for Client Recommendations
The highest compliment a customer can provide is a recommendation. Look for a high percentage of customer recommendations. At, we are fortunate that 9 out of 10 of our clients would recommend us. From support ticket feedback to yearly account surveys we stay in touch and try to improve our service every day.

3) Look for Experience
For over 16 years, has been in the hosting business and has hosted tens of thousands of websites and supported sites that use technologies from WordPress to Joomla, Magento to Django, and much more.

4) Look for Expertise
At, we maintain our own servers and networking, build our own hosting stacks and have helped tens of thousands of website owners run successful websites.

5) Look for Local Support
Our support team is based in Manchester, UK, and you are guaranteed to get through to a highly trained, English-speaking expert when you need help or have questions. We don't outsource any component of our support.

6) Look for Fair and Transparent Pricing
The price you see is the price you pay at and all of our prices include VAT. We do not have hidden fees. We do not try to upsell you on things you don't need. We do not have minimum contracts.

7) Look for a Money Back Guarantee
We don't believe in making people jump through hoops. If you need to cancel your hosting, at any time, for any reason, simply drop us an email and we will refund the last 30 days of hosting fees without any fuss.

Oh! We almost forgot! Select a great image or make sure that the linked image is "good enough".

You generally should also include a call to action with the same link used above, and/or a question to spark engagement here.
