Did you know that Watermelon Has More Lycopene Than Raw Tomatoes?
Considered as the most powerful carotenoid antioxidant, Lycopene provides a pink red color to fruits and vegetables. Compared to even a large fresh 4mg tomato,  a cup of watermelon that weight 6mg has 1.5 times more lycopene. To indulge on this more concentrated source of lycopene, try this Watermelon Shake Recipe.

The Filipino-Americans in the US are one with the nation in celebrating Thanksgiving Day in their own special way. Apart from the day serving as the onset and preparation for the holiday season, we, Filipinos, would liken Thanksgiving to our own Fiesta celebrations wherein we also thank God for all the blessing received during the year. To Filipinos who fancy enjoying their Thanksgiving Day with Pinoy flair, Kudos to you!

“Life isn't how to survive the storm, it's about how to dance in the rain.” This was from Taylor Swift. Yes, it's true that Filipinos are strong and we try to make the most out of life. We are surrounded by the gifts that God and nature have given us. But sometimes, nature can also be unkind. Last October, Bohol and Cebu experienced the 7.2 magnitude earthquake. And this November the Super Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) ravished our islands causing extensive damage in the whole Visaya region especially in Samar and Tacloban Leyte. Hundreds of thousands of people are cut off from communications. Many people have been confirmed dead. Many more will die without our help.

But there is always hope because of the kindness of our global neighbors and friends.

Now is the time for us to extend our helping hands to the families and survivors of Super Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda).

How can you help? Please start by donating simple things that mean a great deal to survival. Can foods, bottled water, clothes, toiletries, slippers, and other relief goods are much needed.

If you want to create a donation shopping list you can do it here:

And let's continue praying Foodies. Nothing is impossible in God. Babangon ulit tayo mga Pinoy sa kabila ng mga unos. Mabuhay ang Pilipino!
