The worst, and I mean worst service I've ever encounted in my life. Given water, order taken, served entrees (- two of which were wrong). We didn't see the waitress again until I tracked down a bus boy to get our check. I would NEVER go back between the crap service & mediocre food - I would've enjoyed a salad at McDonalds more.

Great dining experience. The far falle limoncello was amazing and the souffle heavenly. I would definitely would return. Julio wasn't bad and tipping of 20% is standard in NYC. Although we hesitated coming here due to the low reviews, we're glad we came.

A great place to go with a large group. They have a lot of seating options. They have good wine, coffee, and really attentive waitstaff.

I ate here twice on my trip to NYC, and the food was okay but the service was terrible. They hate tourists and it took 20 minutes to get a glass of wine. The lobster ravioli is the best thing on the menu but eating here will take up 2-3 hours and the waiters are rude and mean. If you can't speak Italian to order your food correctly then you will be mocked by the staff.

Everything went fine until I receive my check. The waitress want to charge a 20% service charge for a table of 4. I redo my calculation to give my customary 15%. Then the same waitress went after me to reclaim his "20% service charge". I told him that the service is optional for a group of four or less and I pay what I consider was fair for the service delivered. He told me that the charge had to be paid since its was in the check. Then I told him to call his manager. The manager sort thing out at least but after the bad purge and experience with this establishment. I wouldn't recommend.

One word: Julio. I received the WORST service I've EVER experienced at the Serafina on W 55th St. After waiting for 15 minutes to be spoken to, and having to ask a DIFFERENT waiter to locate our assigned one (Julio), Julio had the NERVE to have an attitude with my table. He persisted to ignore us throughout our meal, and after signing my receipt with no tip, Julio CHASED--yes, CHASED--us outside the restaurant. He proceeded to get in my face and scold me for not tipping him. As a visitor from the Midwest, I am disturbed by this common culture of assuming that I am required to tip when it's not presented that way on the receipt or even if the service is bad. WORST SERVICE EVER. DON'T DINE HERE.

I was able to enjoy the Innamora Lobster with a V.S.O.P. for my drink. all of it was a pleasure to my tongue. A must try when on Broadway.
