Another thing is that the game is designed to be played with almost no or very little trading.
Dupers will be traced and banned. Dupped items deleted. Nothing you do on the server is private or hidden. Everything is logged in the data.
The crippled trading system actually gave a result in limiting exploits.
Its just nice that this is all over now, since I rarely see people post up loads of gold/purple weapons to sell anymore. Also legendary and gold mats have significantly increased in price where rare motifs have decreased. So I think the economy is coming into its own as we establish firm prices on materials and prices that make sense too.

The prices are dead bottom at the moment. If all this "duped gold" had reached the real market the prices would have gone skyrocketing.
Even if few hundred people have had few millions of gold that would not mater. The player pool and legally obtained gold has much greater mass. It's a mega-server.
Even if few of those player used all those materials to craft high-end gear that still would not mater. Even in PVP. PVP system in ESO is AvA. No 1v1 PVP. A single player with top-end gear and VR-10 can not take a fortress alone. Can not become an emperor alone. Can't actually do a damn thing alone. Well maybe those shitty scouting quests in Cyrodiil, but who cares for those.
And what if I got killed by some uber-overly-geared guy? Do I care? No. In most of the cases I can't even see who's killing me.
Nothing wrong with the economy at all. It's the same crippled system in which 95% of the player are poor and need almost 25 levels to buy themselves a 42'000g horse.
