This place is greatly located downtown. They have live music some nights a day. It is fantastic to sit there and eat outside and the best thing is that they have many gluten free items on their menu. For example, they have GF fried chicken and fried pickles.

I am so glad that I gave thia place a chance even after reading most of these reviews. Their brunch buffet was delightful. The green chile pork was so flavorful. And their pastries are homemade which is definitely obvious when you bite into them. And all for $16.

Got a bisquit and saugage gravy to go. The was no meat and the gravy tasted like a sauce from an entree from the night before. It had garlic and onion. It had a very rauncy taste. Not my taste for breakfast. The biscuit would have been so-so without gravy.

Carol, thanks for taking the time to review us. We prepare our gravy fresh every day, so I'm disappointed to hear it tasted like it was from the night before. How can we improve? I appreciate your feedback and hope to hear back from you soon. - Mason, Owner/Operator

If you want to go to a great place for brunch then this is the place for you. My favorite is the waffles that you get to make. This is a buffet style brunch and a relaxed place to eat. great for that saturday morning.

The new and improved Hickory Street is outstanding! The food is delicious. My all time favorite dish is the Mac & Cheese! It's out of this of this world. The staff is amazing and super friendly. Management actually cares how customers feel and definitely take your opinions seriously. Great place! Great location. Wonderful atmosphere!

This was the very first place I visited when I moved to Austin... the decor was cool-outdoor seating with misting units was something I wasn't accustomed to being a New Yorker. Their mac and cheese with pulled pork on top was INCREDIBLE. Their hot wings were less than good--but as a native Western NYer, my standards may be a bit high on that count.

A group of us went to try the new Hickory Street. Everybody had different things and nobody could finish their food. I had the gluten free chicken fingers (don't be fooled by them calling it fried's just chicken fingers). They were dry, tasteless, and made me thirsty the rest of the day. I went up to the counter to ask for some ketchup or honey mustard (since they WERE serving chicken fingers) and was told "we don't have that but people seem to keep asking for it" I was dumbfounded and asked if there was any other sauce they had. They gave me some ground up mustard that was absolutely terrible. Our group was very dissapointed in the new Hickory Street and will not be going back. Very surprised in the positive chicken finger reviews. Some people must have been sheltered from good food growing up. I'll give one star for having good fountain drinks. They were very fresh.

New menu, new management. Now the place is full of hippy dippy food!
