Well, Lenovo went and stepped in it with this Superfish Adware garbage. All they had to do was continue making the best Windows PCs. Instead, the loaded a huge security risk into their machines and didn't tell anyone. This is a severe black-eye for Lenovo (I know I'm thinking twice about purchasing them in the future), but also Microsoft as well. The time is long past for Microsoft to say "No More Crapware" or "Pure Windows, or No License".

Ridiculous.

Still the MS Office thing. Plus, I actively choose Windows, just wish the manufacturers weren't so kitsch. Windows Signature PCs are nice for this reason.

Sometimes, I think that the only reason I follow Ubuntu news sites is because I like the colors orange and purple.

I am so done with Outlook.com email. Why is everything so freaking difficult?

I did what I thought was an easy search for an email that contained the word "Paystub" (in every example, I didn't search with quotes, those are just for clarification in this post). I know for a fact that I have at least 30 emails that contain this word. Searching "Paystub" brought back nothing. Searching "Pay stub" brought back nothing. I had to manually search a years worth of emails to find the one I wanted. It was an email where the subject was "Paystubs". Furious, I went back to the search to find out the problem. I searched "Paystubs" and brought back nothing. I did an Advanced Search with the word "Paystubs" for the subject line. Finally gave me the result. For giggles, I Advance Searched the word "Paystub" in the subject line, and came back with zero results.

Pathetic. Gmail never pissed me off like this. Good thing I kept my old Gmail address. Time to switch. If Outlook.com wants to fail at the simple things, I'm just not going to bother using it.

So peaceful around our tiny apartment. Christmas decorations make a big difference.

The most Baller thing ever said by Ron Swanson:

“I think so, I’m actually not sure how much money I have. But I do know how many pounds of money I have.”

I'll tell you what, it takes a real stubborn and purposefully obstinate person to complain about the dropping price of oil, and thus, gas for your car.

We all owe a debt of gratitude to the North American oil companies that, via fracking, have forced OPEC to actually compete and lower prices. Free Market competition is benefiting everyone.

As a family of five living under $45k/yr, I am very grateful for the extra $150 that I don't have to put into my tank each month.

Why not just cancel it? As far as I'm concerned, the mobile OS market is mature and already decided. Even Microsoft can't buy its way in at this point. I think this will ultimately be a waste of Canonical's time and money.

Ubuntu Phone's 2015 launch has officially been pushed back to 2015. Chris Hoffman spoke to Canonical's VP of mobile about the delay in his latest World Beyond Windows column.
Canonical pushed back its promised 2014 Ubuntu Phone launch to polish the interface and account for manufacturing hold-ups.

It's always an emotional roller coaster when I install Ubuntu on a system. First is the excitement of the quick boot times, the pretty purples and oranges, and the little drum log-in sound.

But, then comes the actual using of the machine, and it is always a let down. There would be a welcome box that says:

"Welcome to Ubuntu Linux! Hope you enjoy using only the browser!"

or

"Welcome to Ubuntu Linux! Sudo is your new ruler."

Can't wait for my Win8 recovery media to get here.

Anyone here have a 6.0 Excursion? How is your mileage? I'm more interested in the numbers for a 2WD model, as I'm in SC and snow isn't a big issue. When I lived in Iowa, 4WD was a must.

I'm figuring these trucks are north of 200,000 miles now, and I'd like to see how the mpg is holding up. (I'm aware of the inherent issues with the 6.0)

Ate there just today, and it was very good. The chips and cheese dip was tasty. Also, I had a Buffalo Chicken Taco, a Southern Chicken Taco, and Mexi Tater Tots. All of it was very good and I left happy.

Don't stop here. The man behind the counter is a rude bigot. We stopped to get some water and use the toilet. He asked my wife if she was American, and when she said yes, he said, "Well, when are you going back?" No, he wasn't kidding, he was being a jerk. Probably doesn't even know that reviews on the Internet are Worldwide.

Poorly wrapped burrito, fell apart immediately, thus defeating the purpose. Looking around, it wasn't just my food either.

My wife and I went there for breakfast. She really loved her breakfast bagel, though I thought my waffles were a little dry (though tasty). Also, $3 for black coffee is steep. If we go again, I would probably get the buffet or the bagel. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere. There are big TV's in the bar, and I bet it would be fun to watch a game there.

Pete (the owner) is The Man when it comes getting your windows and sills shining! I hadn't washed my windows in years, and he was still able to get the insides and outsides looking new, very quickly. I have no qualms whatsoever recommending Bygrace Cleaning.
