Our client's removal at 9:55 pm yesterday was stopped and he has been taken out of the flight to Sri Lanka. Our expert immigration barrister made out of hours application and went for a hearing on the phone with the Out of Hours High Court Judge and obtained stay order at 8:45 pm. Our client who was represented by various other solicitors lost all his appeals in February 2017 . He instructed us in March 2017, We made fresh claim, pre-action protocol and judicial review application. Our client's Judicial review is pending however Home Office unlawfully detained our client yesterday. He telephoned us with the help of a security guard and informed he was going to be removed to Sri Lanka on the same night. We were only informed at 3:30 pm. We received removal direction via fax from Home office at 4:30 pm. Our team of immigration experts prepared out of hours application and instructed counsel at 6 pm,who did an excellent job and obtained stay of removal.

Our client who was represented by us in his asylum appeal which was allowed, instructed us to make an application to bring his family to the UK under the Family Reunion Rules.

Our client's wife and son were granted the necessary visa to join him in the UK. However, his daughter who was an adult was refused a visa. We took the Home Office to the court and the Judge accepted our argument and allowed the appeal in our client's favour.

Our client's adult daughter will join him in the UK. Excellent news for the family.
