Very nice, Frieda!  I loved the ice cube trick.  My plan (at least, I hope so) is to make yogurt while I'm on winter break.  I am loving my Instant Pot!

Old-Fashioned Pecan Pie (No Corn Syrup)
Hello everyone! Hello? Anybody there? Yes, I'm back from my silence in food blogging. I've been cooking (mostly fast and easy) and baking (a lot), but I just needed to take a break from blogging. I'm sure it's cost me a loss of readership, and I regret ...

Kaiserschmarrn (Emperor's Cut-Ups) -- and a snippet of our trip to Europe
Craig and I returned from our two-week tour of Bavaria, Austria and Switzerland a couple of weeks ago. This trip was the best one, EVER, and I say that with a whole heart.   Well, maybe not WHOLE, because I feel as thought I left a piece of it in my mother...

I love your tip on how you prepare the noodles. You can even use your new All-Clad kettle you just bought, for a bargain!  I love lasagna and used to make it for years...and I haven't done so in a long time.  Like you, I like to make my own sauce.  This has really gotten me craving to make this. Great job! It's a classic lasagna, for sure.
I've been making this lasagna for almost 30 years. When I was a young cook, and a new homeowner, this was my go-to dish because: 1) It feeds a crowd 2) It's really delicious 3) I could make it a day in advance 4) It was one o...

Bavarian Zwetschgendatschi – German Plum Sheet Cake (Tart) Recipe
That's a mouthful of a recipe name, isn't it? "TCH-VENCHKEN-DATCHI" is as close as I can get to teaching non-Bavarians how to say that word. German Plum tart is probably a lot easier to remember. My Bavarian Mutti made this dessert for as long as I can re...

Author of the Food Blog "A Feast for the Eyes"
Introduction
Debby "Foodiewife", author of "A Feast for the Eyes" Food blog. Hi, from Monterey, California. I'm a home cook who strives to learn how to make all things from scratch-- while balancing my busy life as a working wife and mom. I try to buy (and grow) the freshest ingredients possible. My culinary skills are an ever-evolving process of trial and error. I love to cook and bake, equally. Many of my recipes are influenced from my mother's Southern German background, and my dad's Mexican heritage. I have a list of things new recipes and dishes I still want to learn how to make. I enjoy sharing my self-taught lessons with a photo tutorial. I'm a self-taught and aspiring photographer. My food blog is my perfect venue to share recipes and I hope to you inspire you with my food photos.

I've been coming here for 3 years, and I think that you get your bang for the buck. I get the $30.00 combo that includes a "clothes on" massage of the face, head, neck, feet and legs. Then, I get 20 minutes of being on a private massage table for a back massage. I have a favorite massage therapist, but I'm reluctant to give out the name-- for fear she'll get so popular she'll be too booked! The therapists speak minimal English and don't talk at all, which is exactly as I like it. Seeing that a spa will charge $90-$110 per massage, you can't beat this. It's not as fancy as a spa, but it's clean, and that's what matters to me.
