I knew more and more of the movie industry was being shot digitally, but I had no idea that film camera production had stopped. Makes me more determined to shoot with my little Bolex's while I still can.

The best part of the whole article though is the embedded article by Walter Murch. If are interested in film and have never read In the Blink of an Eye definitely pick up a copy. In the meantime, read this essay he wrote in 1999 about digital film making.

It's fascinating to me how we usually think of digital technologies as enhancing collaboration, but in fact in film making by making it possible for a single person to produce a film, it may in fact reduce collaboration. Interesting notion.
