Grow pumpkins vertically to make them fit in small gardens: Choose a small pumpkin variety to grow this way, because a large pumpkin can take the trellis down.

I've been saying this for years - Rand is the poison pill of the liberty movement. I'd still rather see him win the GOP primaries, edging out Yet-Another-Bush or any of the teaparty loony toons, but if Sanders runs, I'm switching parties in an instant.

#RandvsSanders2016
Rand Paul is running away from the libertarian idealism of his youth and the libertarian brilliance of his father.

The FCC passing this 322 pages of Net Neutrality regulation (which no one outside of the commission or those who have written it has seen, yet) is stupidly, stupidly short-sighted on the part of NNR's proponents.

The internet was, up until now, completely unrestricted. There has been absolutely zero, nil, nada - legally enforcable laws, regulations, powers nor authority by the FCC nor anyone to regulate the internet. The fact that Verizon won that court case against the FCC only proves that to have been necessarily the case.

"The internet is the first experiment in anarchy we've ever had." - Eric Schmidt, Co-Founder of Google, Inc

So the internet we know and love, how it's always been, and how it's been growing in bandwidth speed (about 1500% since a decade or so ago, but up to 30,000% faster depending on how much you want to spend), dropping in prices (especially when adjusted for inflation) despite the relatively massive increases in speed, almost ubiquitous availability (86% of households have access to at least two broadband providers), and all this despite taking place in one of the largest populations and geographical areas on earth... is now being imposed upon by restrictions on the agents significantly involved in its growth.

No less, now we've got the fucking FCC (another tentacle of the Federal Government, who has been violating privacy and civil liberties with the likes of the NSA, PRISM, etc ) - so well-known for its love of civil liberties and free speech with its extreme sensitivity to nipple-slips and horrible, evil swear-words on TV and the radio, etc, being the ones to impose these restrictions. They now have a nasty foot in the door to finally controlling the internet. And once regulations pass, they virtually never go away. They just grow. Always.

Of course, we all know how the history of governments in general loving liberty, free speech, voluntary exchanges of private property without third parties (like the government) to interfere, and radical concepts on all sides of the aisle being discussed, and a freeflow of information and communication undetected and untrackable (oh yeah, that's right, we're already okay with the federal government intruding and violating that last one)...

But our government 'is different', right? It's 'special'! it has special tools and special, magical powers that no other government has ever had! It's immune to all the same problems all other national governments have had! Hell, we all know that even if Tom Wheeler does (unlikely) use a 'light touch' and 'forbearance' (oh, we've never heard that before!) in controlling the internet... we know that all future commissioners and presidents will never abuse that power! No, siree!

I've argued, debated, discussed this enough. It doesn't matter anymore. All that's left is to hope the ISPs have a solid case against this and sue the hell out of the FCC and prevail.

Otherwise, everything you all get, all of the nasty unintended consequences, both seen and unseen, that will result from this... you will have deserved it all.

Congratulations to all of you (you know who you are) on being the 'useful idiots' for heralding the end of the internet as we know it. You've bought the giant marketing campaign (propagated by content providers, poisoned ideologues and the federal government) of 'Net Neutrality' (regulation) hook, line, and sinker.
