Love this: Excellent summary with helpful links to what we should do/say/plan.

This strikes me as the perfect venue for teachers to share materials--and earn extra cash. Thoughts?

Highly recommend the NEH experience: Attended the Zora Neale Hurston workshop years ago. Virtually all expenses paid, but more important, amazing speakers, tours, immersion in the author's hometown--and fabulous literary discussions. Enjoyed as a trip, and enhanced what I taught about Zora in the classroom.

If Earth, Wind and Fire shows up in your town, GO! Two solid hours, no patter, five different percussion kits, and Phillip Bailey's STILL the voice of many octaves. Terrific stuff!

I like the way an article talks about running out of internet as a "problem a long time coming." Anyone over 25 remembers when they talked about a world wide web but it wasn't really there yet. Long time? Maybe how long it's been since we walked on the moon . . .

A humorous friend of mine writes a blog called "Life on the May." You can visit it here:

Today she posted her thoughts about socks in "Lost and Found."

I'm thrilled to say, she included my poem, "a simple pleasure."

If you've ever mourned the loss of a sock, you'll get it!
