Find time and a place to remain unoccupied. That’s what meditation is all about. Find at least one hour every day to sit silently doing nothing, utterly unoccupied, just watching whatsoever passes by inside. In the beginning you will be very sad, looking at things inside you; you will feel only darkness and nothing else, and ugly things and all kinds of black holes appearing. You will feel agony, no ecstasy at all. But if you persist, persevere, the day comes when all these agonies disappear, and behind the agonies is the ecstasy.

Meditation of the Week:  Learning art of Silence..

Silence has been defined by literary meaning for a long time. In fact most of the people define silence in relation to noise. The reason why it is so difficult to convey silence to a student of meditation is because of his obsession with noise. He tries to kill noise before finding silence. Truth is, it is easy to find silence if you just acknowledge noise.

If you feel that eliminating noise is silence, you are going struggle for a while. Silence is nothing but deep awareness of noise.

Silence is an acknowledgment of Noise! In fact awareness of noise is Silence!

You need not have a quiet corner to do practice meditation. Any place would do. Yes for a beginner, silent place helps but its not a guarantee you learn silence well.

Meditation is unconditional non-judgmental awareness. Meditation is deep acceptance of everything without filtering. Meditation in the Market place in no different from Meditation in the Monastery
