If you want to avoid mixed-content errors with the free version of OWM and don't have a high-usage application, you can add "https://cors-anywhere.herokuapp.com/" to the front of the url (i.e., "https://cors-anywhere.herokuapp.com/http://api.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/forecast/weather?lat=" + latitude + "&lon=" + longitude + "your_key"). Again, this is for low-frequency requests.
