Pavel Durov, founder of VKontakte, largest social network of Russia, and his statement on departure from Russia -- you can't do business there:

And new Russian law mandating foreign ISPs will have to store communications six months, and place their servers on Russian soil and open up access of user data to Russian intelligence agencies.

You know that Russian guy in the hospital bed with the changing story which seems to be a Russian TV disinformation broadcast? Now NTV admits that it fell for a hoax -- but winds up blaming the West and failing to undo the false charges against the new Kiev government -- which means "mission accomplished" for Kremlin propaganda mills anyway!

The Russians themselves are instigating the trouble, they already "moved in" and no  one requires the Russian army to "move in" further.

Here they go again -- conservative Russian MP denounces celebrated Taganka Theater in Moscow for "insufficient patriotism" and propagandizing "gays, pedophiles and suicides" and even showing Maidan films. The horror!

This week's stories -- Favorite Russian Demotivator images; one lone vote against Crimean annexation; Navalny fights off smear that he works for CIA; Global Voices' sinister implication that the USG sanctions list comes from Navalny -- plenty of other reporting for years debunks this insinuation; RT.com is in a traffic war with Buzz Feed; Russia's top propagandist says Russia the only country that can "reduce America to nuclear ash"; and the sanctions really go to the heart of Putin's crony-land. But meanwhile, Russian military is attacking Ukraine's Belbek air base...

OK, for all of you followers of the Little Green Men in Ukraine, especially military people. Compare and contrast this recently-unearthed Special Operations Force created last year in Russia with the express purpose of being deployed abroad, with the fighters in Kramatorsk, for example. Same?

Here's my forensic study about what is the most important new variation in the Snowdenista narrative in the big Vanity Fair piece (on newsstands only, not online) -- and that's the shifting of the idea for the Verizon document to Snowden, and away from the journalists:

http://3dblogger.typepad.com/wired_state/2014/04/vanityfairnarrative.html

and then further analysis of other lesser-important "new news".

http://3dblogger.typepad.com/wired_state/2014/04/vanityfairsnowdennarcissism.html

Basically, I think Snowden used Vanity Fair for his own vanity touch-ups

The anatomy of the fake "Blackwater mercenaries in Ukraine story" which disinformation networks are recycling yet again today  -- it's full of holes, as usual, emanating from very dubious Kremlin media and very thinly sourced:

Pussy Riot band members speak before the European Parliament and advocate more sanctions against Putin's cronies, like Igor Sechin.

But are they the ones intertwined with Western gas and oil interests and will the West balk at further punishment of Russia?

There's a "lovely" new Russian site where you can handily denounce "traitors" at a click of a button on Facebook or Twitter, and anonymously add to the list:
