Our Intensives encompass the following acting techniques, Sanford Meisner, Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler, Uta Hagen, Mike Leigh & the Stanislavsky Technique.
Michelle Danner is an international film director & acting coach and has distilled the best of each of these techniques, Stella Adler, The Sanford Meisner, Lee Strasberg, Uta Hagen, Chekhov, & the Stanislavsky Technique in which artists can draw upon the major acting techniques, utilizing the strengths of each technique. But every actor is unique, so you will learn to form a toolbox of your own, your very own “Golden Box”. Thru studying Michelle Danner’s acting technique you will accumulate a comprehensive set of “acting tools” when approaching a role or a scene, whether it be for film, television, or theater.

You will accumulate a comprehensive set of “acting tools” to use when approaching a role or a scene, whether it be for film, television, or theater.
Michelle Danner's acting technique & philosophy called “The Golden Box” is based on the Meisner Technique, Lee Strasberg’s Method, Stella Adler, Stanislavski’s System, Uta Hagen, and the Chekhov technique.
An actor can draw upon the major acting techniques, utilizing the strengths of each technique. But every actor is unique, so you will learn to form a toolbox of your own, your very own “Golden Box.”
Audition for Film & TV on camera class:
Actors practice in front of the camera with sides from movies and TV shows ranging from comedy, sitcom, romantic comedy, slapstick, and all genres of dramatic writing.

Scene Study for beginners/intermediate & advanced actors:
Discover your strengths and weaknesses with the help of a trained director’s eye.
Apply our Acting technique and harness it for film and theater performance.
Explore how to apply a backstory to your characters, while working on contemporary and classical scenes and monologues.

Voice & Speech Class
Free the actor’s voice from obstacles that block full expression.
A great method to connect your body to your emotions.

ACTING THEORY:THE MEISNER TECHNIQUE, STRASBERG, STELLA ADLER ACTING TECHNIQUES. This intensive is a practical hands on approach to acting utilizing the Meisner acting technique, Strasberg and Stella Adler’s approach to acting and study of theatre history through 1860 – present day.We will cover the modern masters using Checkhov, Ibsen, Strindberg, Beckett, Inge, Albee, Miller, Williams, Mamet, Shepard and Kushner’s plays as the landscape.

INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED TURKISH ACTRESS FADIK SEVIN ATASOY IS SCHEDULED TO BE A JURY MEMBER ON THE THIRD ANNUAL CINEMA AT THE EDGE FILM FESTIVAL IN SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA; OPENS APRIL 9, 2015 AT EDGEMAR CENTER FOR THE ARTS.

Previous iterations of the festival have welcomed Brett Ratner as an Honorary Chair of the festival, as well as a celebrity jury that included film veterans such as Susan Sarandon and John Singleton. Cinema At the Edge will also feature opening and closing night parties, an award ceremony, and a series of panels with an emphasis on the filmmaking process. Previous panels featured Directors David Anspaugh (“Hoosiers”, “Rudy”) and the late George Hickenlooper (“Casino Jack”, “Factory Girl”).

Fadik Sevin Atasoy is an award winning, actress, author and a public figure of Turkey. Coming from a family of actors, she began her acting career at the age of four in the National Theater. There, she was the youngest to win the best actress award from the Seljuk Theater Festival. Fadik continued her career as a child star with her own show on Turkish National Broadcast.

Fadik became the leading actress of the Turkish National Theatre in where she performed as the lead in seven plays, some of which also toured throughout Europe. These plays include All of My Sons, Miser, and The Cherry Orchard, among others.

She won a Turkish Film Award, the Golden Orange, for best supporting actress. In 2008 with “8 Days of Zeynep”, she won best actress award at the 19th International Ankara Film Festival as well as an Artistic Achievement Award from the International Alexandria Film Festival. In 2011 Fadik won the Best Actress Award for her performance in “Merhaba” at the First Run Film Festival by New York Tish University.

In Los Angeles Fadik worked closely with acting coach Michelle Danner at the Edgemar Center For The Arts. In 2011, Fadik was appointed as the Film Ambassador of Turkey in Los Angeles by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. After fulfilling that position she moved permanently to Los Angeles, a city that she has fallen in love with and hopes to remain in for many thousands and millions of years to come.

Cinema at the Edge will give these films another chance to connect with audiences and to gain exposure and additional opportunities for global distribution. The Edgemar Center for the Arts is well known on the west side of Los Angeles as a venue where up and coming talent share quality work, and Artistic Director Michelle Danner is thrilled to now invite the global independent film community to experience this vibrant, beachside community. 

In 2015, Cinema at the Edge will present narrative feature, documentary and short film programs. Jury and audience awards will be given in each category. Jury prizes include a $250 cash award. While the programmers are thrilled to give independent filmmakers a vehicle of expression, an additional commitment is to see that the standout titles at the festival have an opportunity to screen for distributors. Therefore the winners of the jury and audience awards in each category will be viewed by industry professionals working in international film distribution and considered for acquisition.

          
Tickets for individual events are $12.00, except for the Opening Night screenings and parties ($25.00; party only for $20.00) and the Closing Night Awards Ceremony and Party ($20.00). An all-access Festival Pass for $225.00 includes all events, panels, screenings and parties.
