While home sick for a couple of days, I had the opportunity to catch up on some TV watching. On a very popular morning talk show, an inaccurate statement was made, as follows: "Only pet reptiles carry germs." Unfortunately, this is not true. Salmonella is an equal opportunity bacteria and does not know if a reptile is a pet or not. Therefore, that cute little tortoise you found on your morning walk is likely to carry this germ, also. Please read the following information provided by the CDC.
