New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) is shutting off natural gas infrastructure that serves the hurricane-damaged barrier islands south of Point Pleasant Beach to Seaside Park, as well as Long Beach Island. About 28,000 people will be affected. #Sandy   #hurricane   #njwx   #newjersey

Would appreciate anyone that can help out with this cause. We are attempting to fund 30 scholarships in the amount of $500 each, for enrolling students at Jacksonville State University. All of this is being done as a memorial scholarship in my fathers name. He passed away in September of 2011. Again, any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated!  Follow the link, to the secure donation site. Thanks everyone. -SM

Interesting comparison of the NHC predicted paths of Hurricane Irene in 2011, and probable Hurricane Isaac this weekend.

ive seen this going around, but IMO the steering is quite different
although the tracks are similiar
Analogs are not based on track alone, and if you look at steering analogs, irene wasnt even there..
In fact a katrina steering analog showed up before an irene one(500mb)

Alabama Storm Spotters
Introduction
Owner/operator of Alabama Storm Spotters. Storm chaser for WIAT-TV CBS 42 in Birmingham, AL.
Bragging rights
My name is Scott McClellan. I started this page as an outlet for a lifelong hobby. I am a trained SkyWarn spotter, and have been for over 24 years, along with being a member of the Spotter Network. I am also a CoCoRaHS observer for Shelby County, AL (Station AL-SH-47). Recently began working with WIAT-TV Channel 42 in Birmingham, AL, streaming live coverage during severe weather events. I have a pretty lengthy resume' of storm experiences across the Southeastern United States, ranging from snowstorms to landfalling hurricanes. I have also been witness to the power of 3 EF-5 tornadoes in my lifetime. Amazing stuff.
