American Family Insurance Children's Hospital provides children with an atmosphere that is different than the average hospital. There are activities and themed rooms where children can play, watch movies, explore and just be kids.

God bless this hospital and its entire staff. If you are a parent, you know the fear of having a sick child hospitalized. It takes a lot to feel comfort in such situations. But the doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, kitchen staff, clerical, volunteers, everyone there goes out if their way to bring comfort to both patient and child. They allowed both my husband and me to sleep in the room with our child during the entire week long stay. They included us in the decisions with every step of treatment. We were treated with respect, compassion and most importantly good care. I feel they saved our Childs life and for that we will always be eternally grateful!

We have been here several times with both of our children to see specialists in two different departments: ENT and Urology. Our family has nothing but good things to say about the providers, the facility and the services provided at American Family Children's Hospital.

The Madison Mallards and UW Health Sports Medicine present this youth baseball clinic for kids ages 8-13. Learn proper pitching mechanics to throw more strikes and reduce risk of injury. This is the critical age for young pitchers to learn good fundamental movement patterns and practice habits. Kids will learn pitcher specific warmups, arm conditioning and mechanical drills along with a splash of fun competition. http://bit.ly/1JR8y1Q

Knowing your child’s Fitness Personality may help you find the right activity for your child.
For the last 15 years, I’ve worked with school-age children from elementary school through high school as a special education assistant, track and cross country coach and exercise physiologist in the Pediatric Fitness Clinic.  During this time, exercise has been my “go to” tool for handling b

Have you heard of promposals? You know, the elaborate production that goes in to asking someone to be your date at the school dance. Yes, it’s a thing and it’s all over social media.

Children all have individual variations in how they develop communication skills, but if they are lagging behind, or not meeting milestones, they may need some help getting there. http://bit.ly/1Ha20gs

You may see a lot of stories about concussions and football players, but did you know kids who don't play sports can get concussions too?
This concussion blog is NOT about football (at least for the most part). Former Badger football standout Chris Borland announced that he was calling it quits after 1 year in the NFL with the San Francisco 49’s.  His main concern: concussions and their long term health risks.  Repeated concuss
