Intimate local dining favorite serving exquisitely prepared food and wines. Fine dining. Comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Moderate cost.

the quintessential neighborhood restaurant with some surprising twists. how many local restaurants serve branzino baked encased in salt, or brandade and dandelion salad. pretty good place to eat.

Beautiful food, fresh from the Farmer's Market, and prepared by people who love food and really know how to cook. Canele pastries offered on the way out are lovely, and the homemade mint chip ice cream is to die for, as are the ever-changing specials. Great brunch, too! One of my favorites in LA, and a good place for people watching (if you like us Silver Lake folk).

good food, but the environment isn't much

The food, the ambiance, the service, love the open kitchen. Romantic and intimate, yet filled with an eclectic atmosphere.

Just thinking about Canele makes my mouth water.... Everything is cooked to perfection -- no dried out fish here, and the desserts are beyond fabulous (especially the molasses cake with caramel sauce)! Also, be sure to try the Beef Bourguignon. It's far better than in those famous places on the west side.
