Basic Information
Let me start by saying I have owned a pop-up trailer for the last 10 years. I had to rent last minute because some mice had gotten into our camper. The rental experience started out reasonably well, although the cushions were in much worse shape than my ten year old camper. The refrigerator wouldn't light with the auto-ignitor during the demonstration, but I said not to worry about it. He said that it may or may not work with lighting it with a match and to let them know. We ended up not even trying to light the wasn't worth the trouble. We filled up with water about 30 miles from our campsite, when we arrived and tried to use the water, the tank was empty. Secondly, in the evening, we had the lights on and within about 15-20 minutes, it was so dark in the camper, we couldn't even see. We hooked the camper up to our battery (thankfully we had brought it), and the lights were bright and heater worked for the next four days without any problem. When I returned the camper, I explained the problems to the owner. I added that I was not looking for a refund, but thought they should know for the next renter. I was told that it was normal for the lights to be so dim that you can hardly see. The owner then proceeded to test the battery and said it was fine. I'm not sure what kind of tester he was using, but I can tell you that it is not normal!!! Also, he said that I must have had the valve open on the water tank and that was why I had no water (it all drained out of an open valve). Again, I have owned a pop-up for ten years and know very well when the tank valve is open. Again, I told the owner that I wasn't looking for a refund. I really think that some sort of apology was in order. Very disappointed in the customer service and will tell anyone that will listen about my terrible experience. One good thing I will point out is that I didn't have the post all the way up that supports the hitch while driving and damaged that part when I went over a dip. I had paid the $60 for the full coverage waiver and the owner didn't give me any problem about that damage. That is the only reason I'm giving this review one star.
