This is a high quality, reasonably-priced "flexitarian" restaurant. There is some traditional diner fare, but that's not why we go. The food is fresh and adventurous, and at least half of the large selection is vegetarian or vegan friendly (I recommend the roasted brussels sprouts with lentils and house-made tomato sauce). Many items are locally sourced. Service is very good. One caveat - this is a VERY popular restaurant that you cannot reserve, and for that reason the Sunday brunch waiting line extends out of the door. Plenty of free parking.

We love silver diner for the varied menu that is delicious and uses local suppliers. The seasonal specials are always good. The place is family friendly with clowns on the weekend who make balloon animals for kids. It can et pretty loud on weekends, especially the later evening because the place is open until 2 am, a lot of high schoolers hang out there. We always take visitors here and the milkshakes are so good!

I love Sliver Diner chain restaurants. I'm the Sysco Delivery Driver who delivers Sliver Diner food to Rockville, MD every Friday for at least 500 cases which takes me a few hours but overall i see how the chef down to the employees of this location & all other Sliver Diner locations work as a team to supply fast & excellent services to it's customers. The food is always great & hot at reasonable prices...

The food is always good here (Ilike the turkey decker sandwich) the service is nice, just be aware there is almost always a wait on the weekends, however they get you seated pretty fast (Average: 10-15 minutes)

Pokémon GO players: There is a Pokéstop for the Silver Diner entrance pinned at the entrance - there is some seating outside, but if you want to eat and you're seated in the front, you'll probably be able to dine and stock up on pokéballs at the same time. There always seems to be a lure on it on Lunch, Dinner, and in the evening/night. Personally, I wasn't WOWed by the food... but it still made a good meal and I was definitely satisfied. I also like the food philosophy going on with locally sourced food. The atmosphere is great too - if you're older it'll have a nice nostalgic feel & if you're younger the retro vibe is cool and clean. Be prepared for a long wait if you come during peak hours. It is a super popular location with the locals. I came here with my family while they were in town. Our server seemed to be a bit overworked and out of sync with the kitchen, which meant that we got our actual meal before our salads. My parents were upset about this, but overall is really wasn't a big deal and I could tell this wasn't the norm since the place was packed and the employee was likely new. Regardless, the manager still apologised to us and gave us vouchers for 2 free appetizers! Overall great service and attentive staff, and I will definitely visit in the future.

Low quality diner food, bad sausages and breakfast menu. Skimpy meat with lunch menu. Decent burgers though. This is just a little better than eating at dennys or ihop. Same bad quality food just no ghetto people there to spoil your dining experience.

I'm an out-of-Stater who comes to Bethesda perhaps 4-7 a year for an overnight visit and Jane been doing so for 15-20 years. If I have time for breakfast I come here. But I caution readers I am a creature of habit - when I find rthersomething I really like that's all I order and don't bother to experience with other items on the menu. In this case the bison huev... rancheros (sp?). On each occasion I have found the wait staff very friendly and competent. Today, Mother's Day, was extremely busy, naturally. I mentioned I was only one and was seated promptly. I further very much appreciate the Silver Diner supporting The Children's Inn at NIH.
