Well I have a lot of work now to do. I guess, things are moving up a gear. Lets get the show on the road.

I was down at Lisburn Gaming Centre today again for another game of Dystopian Wars. This time we decided to try out the land battles to see how they run. Americans (myself) and British (Bob) were fighting it out.

I must say, although a small battle of around 810 points, it was a VERY tight game and almost a better one than any Naval battle I have had. The Americans really impressed me with the larger armour and devastating fire power. The British held their own too.

I had suggested that we try out some of +Trevor Houston's scenery boards to add a little flavour to our game and the models just blended in with them perfectly. Both Bob and myself were really inpressed with it all. As the game started, we rolled for initiative and we each chose in turn a square. Then we rolled for game goals, I was blessed to only take out Bob's capital ships and he was marred with taking out 70% of my force (567 points). This was better than taking out all of my force. I say this as it was such a tight battle that we were down to both of us winning if we took out one of the others squadrons.

Highlights of the game: My Tiny tanks (3 of) up against Bobs fleet carrier and hit 21 times out of 7 dice. Bobs highlight was blowing up one that of that squadrons tanks with a critical and damaging the tiny tank beside.
Excellent game.

For a few Fridays at Lisburn Gaming Club, I ran an old RPG from West End Games, Ghostbusters. The guys down there wanted to start into RPGs and I thought that this was an excellent way to bring both fun, wackyness and an introduction into roleplaying. I made sure that they had to get into their characters and roleplay out events.

In this video, you will see they guys making an entrance, swimming across a barley flake sea, and making a rallying speech to get mindless possessed people to vote for a new prime minister.
