I always said that it isn't that every SIN is so evil, but that God tells us not to practice this or that because he knows it could cause us trouble or danger, etc. I always believed that what the Bible tells us not to do, is like God saying to us, "If you run into the street, you can get hit by a car. I am just trying to prevent you, my children, from suffering." WELL, at St. Sophia's church tour at their Greek Festival, the pappas (priest) basically said the same thing. It isn't that God is legalistic and wants anyone to adopt some "Oooh, YOU sinner!" type attitude, but that he is just trying to protect his children from negative outcomes.
