I will never again eat here. Apparently the owner, Deb VonWald, thinks she has a monopoly on the downtown pizza availability. She gets to pass go and collect $200 while ousting competition through red tape and complaints of fairness. She says in a Post Bulletin article: "I don't feel like the trucks and downtown brick-and-mortar businesses are even on the same playing field," she said. "I have secured a downtown location for seven years. I pay special district taxes. I pay an exorbitant amount of rent. I also pay to take care of the building I'm in. For a food truck to be able to outfit a truck and poach business wherever they can talk somebody into letting them be on their property is really frustrating." "I think if other people were finding that businesses were trying to compete with them in the same way, they'd be as outraged as I feel about it," she said. "I honestly don't think there's a place for it in Rochester. I feel extremely strongly about it." How dare someone start a business and compete with an establishment. We must all be fair I guess.

I think the good reviews are posted by staff. Every time I went there the staff was rude so I stopped going. I asked one woman a question and she just glared at me and said its all on the menu and pointed and stood there huffing because I was apparently wasting her time.

Their single slices tend to be a little cold and chewy, but their regular pizzas are fab.

It appears the owner of this business is attempting to increase THEIR business by keeping other legitimate businesses, aka downtown food/pizza trucks, away from their imagined perimeter by publicly whining and decrying the other businesses. Her main problem is her food isn't good enough to stand up to the competition, in my opinion. I'll pass the word around big time to all of my friends and suggest they don't go anywhere near the place. Looks like it's already getting around .

Decent pizza. Easy to get a couple quick slices and a soda for lunch.

Don't eat here. The owner uses the sob story of having to pay higher taxes for the location when competition tries to move in. She also tries to find ways to force them away. Even to places that have operated in the city for much longer than she has.

ZPizza is an awesome place to get great quality pizza. They have tons of selections ranging from you basic cheese pizza, to California style, and beyond. They also offer a fairly large and varied selection of vegetarian pizza, as well as a couple vegan options. In addition to those niche markets, they also offer gluten free crust. As a vegetarian myself, I highly recommend checking ZPizza out for their meatless selections. You wont be disappointed! In comparison to most other local pizza places, they are a few dollars more expensive. However, I feel the added cost is well worth the quality of food and service that you receive.
