This month, team members from Maynard, Massachusetts participated in the 16th Annual “The Taste” event hosted by the Maynard Education Foundation. The event featured food prepared by local restaurants and vendors and lots of entertainment.

Food Service Director, Chris Piercey and team member Joan Irish attended the event on behalf of Whitsons to prepare and serve Mango Pulled Pork with Kale and Quinoa Salad. "It's always great to get to take part in community-based events like "The Taste" and to be able to meet with local restaurants and the families of students who we feed every day,” said Chris.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Maynard Education Foundation’s grant programs for teachers, students, and administrators. Founded in 2000, the Maynard Education Foundation is a nonprofit, private charitable organization that funds ideas and projects that promote and celebrate academic rigor and achievement, excitement about learning, and innovation in instruction.
