Everything at Clio is delicious, but if you can, snag a spot at the bar - it's where all the action is. Clio's bartenders are a friendly, creative bunch, and a great match to the mind-blowing cocktail list. At the bar, order the pork belly steam buns - the best pork belly I've ever had, anywhere - and the bahn mi. Flip straight to the ROTOVAP section of the cocktail list, or just pick anything that includes smoked cinnamon or charred jalapeno for the sake of watching them light up the bar-side grills to prepare your beverage.

Clio has always been known for its stellar food and service, but in recent years it has built up a solid bar following, with master barman, Todd Maul, behind the bar. Whether it's a new take on a Tom Collins (try the Todd Collins or the Mary Collins) or whipping out the blow torch or using ingredients that have gone through technological changes via centrifuge or rotovap, you are bound to have an amazing cocktail experience unique not just to Boston but possibly in the entire world. It's always a conundrum telling people about Clio...I rave about it because it sets the bar so high for both food and drink, but it also means one less bar seat!

Uni Clio - This famous restaurant has a sushi bar on one side and a fine dining french restaurant on the other side. It is rare to be able to get good sea urchin prepared in a japanese way in Boston, and hence makes this restaurant a gem in the city. As for the french cuisine, during my trip to Boston in 2008, I was rather impressed by the iron chef's menu of using coffee as theme imbued into the cuisines including coffee venison, coffee lobster.

this is a charming place for a delightful dinner. the restaurant is attractively decorated with posters and flowers, the people are friendly, and all the food is delicious. we were seated early at a spacious table, and our servers were gracious and attentive to special needs. every course was a surprising work of art, and we always got enough but never too much of the tasty food. wines included some really nice choices but were a bit spendy, and desserts were unusual and intensely flavored. the satisfied patrons create a nice buzz in the air, and we'd happily go to clio again.

IT CANNOT GET BETTER THAN THIS. THE TOMATO MARTINI IS JUST ONE SIGN OF THE BRILLIANCE HERE - AND THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE THAT LOBSTER CAN BE BETTER THAN JUST BOILED WITH DRAWN BUTTER. A CONSISTENT WOW.
