The Day the Frugal Retiree Gave Up Cooking (Sort Of)

Going with My Flow
Today has been a relaxing day. In fact, it's been a relaxing week. Fourth of July was spent relaxing in the back yard with good food, and then closing up the house (to save my dog's sanity and well being) and watching fireworks on the tube. Except for walki...

Photo Friday-Punch Drunk Canines and More
Well, actually it's foto Saturday I suppose. As often happens, I am behind on the proverbial ball. A couple weeks ago, my coon hound went to the doctor for his annual visit.  The normal stuff; vaccines, heart worm check and so on. After the vet looked into ...

On Renting a Home (or Apartment or Condo) in Retirement
Yesterday morning at about ten am, I got up and took a nice long shower. Since I have a bathtub and shower combo, once I was finished, I turned the shower knob back in the other direction so that the water was coming out the tub spigot. I have burned my sel...

$100 Face Cream and Kmart Shirts-Balancing Spending in Retirement
I have dry skin. Not Oil of Olay dry skin (not to pick on that specific brand). The kind of dry skin that makes me want to moisturize not only in the morning, but again during the day-making minimal makeup a requirement. Anytime I talk about frugal or strea...

Lessons From Orlando?
Today is a difficult day. Yesterday at least 49 people were killed in a gay bar in Orlando. I have had no words for a day, and still have no worlds to express my grief and frustration. This was an act of domestic terrori sm and most importantly a hate crime...

As someone who travels with pets, we were disappointed. After reading the pet policy completely online, there was no mention of the fact that pets could not be left in the rooms while we went out. In fact, we do this all the time-and have done so in Best Westerns from Missoula to Clayton Texas (our dogs are well behaved). The website states pet deposit as well as numbers and wight allowed but in no way says that dogs cannot be left in rooms, even in crates. We managed well for three days, but will be traveling back to the black hills, and staying in another hotel. Also, we had no wifi. Fortunately I have fourg.

Very professional and easy to work with. Fernando was very unobtrusive but took piles of wonderful pictures. Some of the pictures were truly amazing and the photos came back very quickly! A delight to work with and we loved pictures. A wonderful job and I would definitely hire Fernando again! Thanks so much! 21:17 May 20, 2014
