Living Alone in Retirment-Sharing a Few Downsides
A few months ago, I wrote an article about Living Alone in Retirement. The point of that article (which appears on the sidebar) was to show the positives of living alone (in retirement or any time), as well as getting rid of some "myths and misconceptions" ...

What to Wear After Fifty? Why, Whatever You Want!!!!!
Today I unexpectedly jumped into Internet Rabbit Hole! You see, someone sent me via Facebook an article about what not to wear-for the over thirties, of all things.  This list included everything from mini skirts to hoop earrings of any size. By the time I ...

Keeping the Spontaniety in Retirement
If you were to ask me the best thing about retirement, the first things out of my mouth would be the ability to throw out the alarm clock, and the ability to act spontaneously. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy so many other things about retirement. I appreciate ...

The Joy of Dabbling in Retirement
Yes, it's been awhile!!!! While I have been enjoying my slightly slowed down retirement schedule, the last week has not been in that vein. I've had some full volunteering days due to some special events. On Thursdays my church has a short service, a dinner ...

Volunteering: Doing With, Rather than To
On two days a week, I volunteer at the front desk area (and other areas as needed) at a residential women's shelter. Different from an emergency shelter, these facilities are long term transitional housing. In order to qualify for this program, women have t...

On Doing Less and Enjoying It More In Retirement
I have a confession to make: I am one of those people who regularly has more things to do than time. I have been known to write here and elsewhere that I wonder how on earth I ever had time for a job, and wearing that distinction with pride. While some peop...

One Project Finished, Another Started
As a crafter, quilter and short attentio span type, I always have multiple projects going at a time, be it crafting, writing, cooking, or other projects.  In this case, I finished a quilt for my wall, and then allowed myself to start on something completely...

Making Do?
As a frugal retiree, I consider myself to be frugal rather than a tightwad. Admittedly, on some occasions I can be extremely frugal.  However, I pride myself on not being "tight", mainly as that is not how I choose to live my life. You'll never see me weari...

One Retiree's Frivolity.............................
I have a confession to make. I live on $2900 a month, and and this month I may well  spend $250 a month on crafting supplies and fabric related items. In fact, I shopped for fabric yesterday during my errand day, and I plan to order fabric online today.  I ...

Instead of Traveling, I'm Taking A Vacation?
As many regular readers know, I have been talking about a long road trip along the gulf coast for many months-at least since August of last year when I put my end of summer road trip on hold. I've even planned, and talked about the planning more than once. ...

Hopefully you idiots don't run and hide and make good on tearing down someone's home "by accident". Somehow relying on an arrow on google maps rather than checking the actual street is not a good excuse. And 24 hours without an apology?  I can see the lawyers rubbing hands together now.

As someone who travels with pets, we were disappointed. After reading the pet policy completely online, there was no mention of the fact that pets could not be left in the rooms while we went out. In fact, we do this all the time-and have done so in Best Westerns from Missoula to Clayton Texas (our dogs are well behaved). The website states pet deposit as well as numbers and wight allowed but in no way says that dogs cannot be left in rooms, even in crates. We managed well for three days, but will be traveling back to the black hills, and staying in another hotel. Also, we had no wifi. Fortunately I have fourg.

Very professional and easy to work with. Fernando was very unobtrusive but took piles of wonderful pictures. Some of the pictures were truly amazing and the photos came back very quickly! A delight to work with and we loved pictures. A wonderful job and I would definitely hire Fernando again! Thanks so much! 21:17 May 20, 2014
