Healthy Mouth, Healthy Body
Making the Connection.
Over the last 20 plus years there has been strong evidence linking dental diseases to numerous systemic health conditions including cardiovascular disease, artery blockages, stroke, diabetes and pre-term pregnancy. Oral health impacts the health of the entire body
According to a recent CDC reports periodontal disease (gum infection) is highly prevalent with 47 percent of adults over the age of 30 (64million Americans) have mild, moderate or severe stages and 70 percent of adults over the age of 65 have periodontal disease; the prevalence increases with age.

Poorly positioned wisdom teeth cause many problems, the most common one is root decay on the adjacent molar (the wisdom tooth touches) and sometimes the chances of saving the second molar is impossible. Therefore one ends up loosing both molars. Other problems that can happen as a result of a retained wisdom tooth is inflammation, gum infection, bone loss and sometimes cysts.

We highly encourage our patients to have their wisdom teeth removed early on before problems arise. When patients get their wisdom teeth taken out early healing is quick and complications are rare.
