A person’s body is their private property. You must ask for consent every damn time. If my wife does not want me to touch her, then I do not get to touch her. If my son does not want to kiss his grandmother goodbye, then he does not have to. If your daughter does not want to be hugged by a classmate, then she does not have to.
If a person cannot give permission for whatever reason, like being too intoxicated, then you are not allowed to touch them. You are not allowed to forcibly enter them. This is rape. You are not allowed to rape them. You are not allowed to commit a violent crime.
In case I have been too vague, Brock Turner, you are a rapist. You are vile. You do not belong in society. Please, admit your guilt, and admit the actual crime. The crime is not drinking, or promiscuity, or any of the other victim shaming excuses used in your case. You raped a person.
And to the father of Brock Turner, had Brock been the victim of rape instead of the perpetrator, would you still think of it as, “20 minutes of action?” If you had been able to teach your son empathy instead of entitlement, maybe a young woman’s entire future would not have been horribly altered by your son’s violence.
