Some of the best seafood in charleston hands down. You wouldn't think it from outside walking in but you can never judge a book by its cover. Competes with the 5-star restaurants downtown. Fresh, crispy golden brown seafood. The best platter in town.

Dave's is an awesome hole-in-the-wall kind of treasure. I usually don't like shrimp that much but I have had a craving for shrimp ever since eating there. Dave (I assume?) was friendly and funny, joking with all the customers. My only regret was only going there once in our time spent in Charleston, and if we're ever in town again we will definitely be going back to Dave's Carry-Out.

Leave that fancy Charleston hotel and walk up to Dave's Carry Out. Different menu every night and all are very reasonable. Turkey wings, with plenty of 'sides' were especially good. And yes, there are a few tables/chairs for eat-in. On the negative side: the early bird catches the worm - if you show up late, and I mean after 6pm, they might be out of the daily special, and for good reason - the locals know a good thing. In any case, well worth the walk for some good southern cooking.

Neighborhood hole in the wall. Offers deep fried seafood that's very basic but tasty nonetheless.

Yes, it looks really bad from the outside. This was my first trip to Charleston and we decided to stop into Dave's for dinner on night. A first I did not think it was a good idea... but once we got the food, I knew we made the right decision. The food was amazing. I have grown up on seafood so I am really picky! I recommend this place. It was cheap and worth it. The plates are about $7.00. I had the Shrimp Platter and the Devil Crab. Both of which were amazing!! Check it out! You won't be disappointed! All of the food is fried.

This is a jewel in a crown for Charleston cuisine! Hands down the best fried shrimp in town for an amazing price. Do not be fooled bt its humble appearance. If you try it once you will get hooked.
