Shri Vile Parle Kelvani Mandal's Narsee Monjee College Alumni
Introduction
N.M. - These two letters have defined our lives for half a decade. We have always taken pride in calling ourselves‘NMites’, and as we say this again, we are overwhelmed every time we think about its glorious history. NM is a great institution, and now after decades, is a legend. The college has built itself over the years and nurtured all of us in the process.

Every year, thousands of aspirants lining outside the college to get that coveted admission, make all of us swell with pride.. NM opened its doors in the year 1964. For over 40 years it has added value to the lives of over 30,000 students that have passed through its doors and shaped their future. No one who has studied there can ever forget its contribution.

As it is true of any educational institution, its students and faculty are two dimensions of NM. We as students have always felt a sense of nostalgia even when we in the vicinity of this great institution. We have felt a need to re-bond with our alma mater and try and give something back to it, if possible. With this intention, the N.M. College Alumni Association Movement (NaaM), was conceived in 1997 by a few like minded ex-students. A beginning was made to connect all the ex-students and bring them under one roof.

In order to provide help and information regarding the organization and register complaint and grievances, the National Council for Teaching Education (NCTE) has initiated a call centre for students as well as teachers.
In a statement that was released just after the launch of the call centre it said, “The centre is aimed to provide a platform to all the stakeholders, i.e. students, teachers and general public to seek any clarification regarding working of the NCTE, application for the recognition of teacher education institutions, teacher education courses and any other issues including any complaints or grievances pertaining to NCTE.”
NCTE is a national autonomous body which functions under the Ministry Of Human Resource Development. It is responsible for development of teacher education in the country and it provides affiliations to institutes offering courses on teacher training or teacher education. It is the primary body to which all the state bodies need to report in case of any problems or grievances. The newly launched call centre would be functional from 9am in the morning to 6 pm in the evening. The callers would be able to get through to the call centre through a toll-free number 1800110039. It is expected that this would make registering of complaints easier and redressal of grievances could become systematic.
In case the call centre couldn’t provide the information needed to any particular individual, the caller would then be connected to the four Regional offices of the NCTE which are present in Jaipur, Bangalore, Bhopal and Bhubaneswar.
