He...he...hello? I'm Benny. head duck I'm sorta shy, because I haven't been socialized well and was picked on by dogs in my previous home. Now I think I need someone really really gentle and loving and special to help me figure stuff out. I'm only two years old, though, so I know it's not too late. I'm with my shelter buddies here in Washougal, WA, and they're working to show me that life doesn't have to be so scary. They say I'll understand when I meet my forever person. Is it you? Someone you know? Can you help make some happy magic in my life? If interested in fostering or adopting me, please send an email to adoptions@wcghs.org. Please share!

Pavarotti, Bocelli, ah, the greats. Ciao! I’m Capella and no, I’m not comparing myself with the best singers but I can be very vocal and sing beautifully, if I do say so myself. I’m a handsome domestic short haired gray boy with faint Tabby striping and bright white mitts and bib. I’m 3 years old and though I might exhibit stage fright with other cats at first, with some time and proper introductions, I ought to warm right up and before long, it’ll be, “Fa-la-la-la-la!” time.

Did I mention I’m very friendly with people, love warm laps, brushings and am good with gentle children ages 9 and up? Maybe I’ll sing about all that the next time I’m on stage. In the meantime, I would love a home where I can explore and play and belong to a family with a lot of tender love and laughter to share.

I would love to meet with you today. Please give WCGHS a jingle or email us at outreach@wcghs.org and let’s meet to begin planning to write our next score together. Yours in song, Capella.

Hello everyone! I'm 9 year old Shimba, the sweetest tabby boy you'll ever meet. I have lots of experience giving love to people. I'm friendly, talkative, and I even give kitty-kisses. I'm told those are the best kinds of kisses. All I really want is a home that will return my affections and some people to pet me, scratch my chin, and cuddle with me. I am very curious about my surroundings and will be quick but cautious about exploring everything around me. I was surrendered with Timra my shy roommate from my previous home. If you have room for two, please consider meeting her also. She is very pretty and has soft fur. Could you be my forever family? If so, please send an email to outreach@wcghs.org to set up a time to come see me. You won’t be sorry! Love, Shimba.

Cleo is a beautiful, friendly 1 year old black and white tuxedo girl who came in from an animal cruelty case out of Ellensburg. She has had a full mouth extraction and was treated for ruptured ear drums. She is deaf, but was very attentive to her handlers when she participated in the LCAP program at Larch Corrections Center for socialization. She is a quiet, shy girl while adjusting to shelter life, but loves to be petted and played with, and takes her naps in the lap of her people. Her thick, lush fur is unique in that her outer color is black and the inner color is soft white. She is now ready to interview for a forever family. Do you have an extra soft spot in your heart for this darling kitty who has been through so much in her short life? Please call WCGHS or email us at outreach@wcghs.org to make an appointment to meet sweet Cleo.

"Lucky Lady." That's my name, and it's also what's brought me here, away from the things that happened to me before. Some people dwell on bad things, and let them ruin all the good and wonderful things that come after -- but not me. Today, I'm so grateful for the nice people who come sit with me and give me belly rubs!!!! and soft blankets, and whisper to me all the time, "Someone is gonna come fall in love with you soon, Lucky Lady... how could they not?" So now when people walk by my kennel, I don't have to wait and worry... I just think, "Are YOU the one? And ummm... do you give belly rubs where you live?" If your answer is "yes" -- email my friends at adoptions@wcghs.org to adopt me or foster me. I am a beautiful 2 year old cattle dog mix who is looking for love. Look forward to meeting you soon! Love and wiggles, Lucky Lady

Ever wanted to write a best-selling story? I'm Tazz, and that's my goal. And I want YOU to be my co-author! It all began a few years ago, when I found myself homeless and wandering the streets. At first I enjoyed it, being the outdoors-y type, but as I got older the nights got colder, and life on the run lost its appeal.

Fortunately, my new friends at West Columbia Gorge Humane Society in Washougal, WA took me in, and set out to reform my hobo ways. They introduced me to something called a "foster home," and wouldn't you know, turns out I'm more of an indoor-living, lap-sitting love muffin than you could ever imagine!

If that sounds like an exciting story to you, then I need your help to write the next chapter. I promise it will have a happy ending, even if I did pick up that pesky FIV virus on my wanderings -- despite what you may have been told, cats like me can live long lives in the company of non-FIV cats without transmitting the disease!

How about it? Can you help me find just the right co-author to tell the rest of my story by sharing this post? Just tell them to email WCGHS at outreach@wcghs.org or call 360-835-3464 to come visit. THANK YOU! Love, Tazz

A beautiful lady with a beautiful name, Shealena is not only a gorgeous, 9 year old short haired black cat, but a sweet and fun one as well. She’s looking for the purr-fect quiet and quaint home where she can curl up on a comfy couch and dream of chasing birds. And when she’s not lounging, she enjoys playing with anything she can get her paws on. Loud noises and quick movements might scare her at first, so a home with older experienced children and/or adults only would suit her best. Shealena’s sure to bring countless smiles and happiness to your home and she will reward you with her gratitude and gentle purrs. Please call WCGHS or email us at outreach@wcghs.org today and ask about beautiful Shealena!
