The documentary series "The Roads of Slavery", co-produced by Arte France, traces the history of slave trade from the 7th to the 19th century.
This initiative is the result of an extensive historical investigation. It relies on the expertise of members of the International Scientific Committee of the Slave Route Project, as well as members of the Scientific Committee of the General History of Africa, among others

Para los cazadores anécdotas: esta primera conferencia de Borges en Francia, dada en la UNESCO, y que seguía las intervenciones de Lawrence Durell y Giuseppe Ungaretti, deslumbró tanto a la audiencia que el estatus de Borges en Europa cambió inmediatamente: de ser considerado como un escritor Argentino conocido sobre todo en medios literarios semi-confidenciales en América Latina, pasó a ser una de las sensaciones de los círculos intelectuales franceses. Para su segunda conferencia sobre la literatura fantástica, celebrada días más tarde, el entusiasmo fue tal que, a partir de entonces, Roger Caillois, Roland Barthes, Michael Foucault y Jean-Paul Sartre (entre otros), empezaron a hablar de "lo borgiano"

Patrimoines et rencontres pour humanité voyageuse
"C'est partout comme ici" disait déjà Leibniz, signifiant que, l'humanité étant unique sur terre, il n'y avait plus d'"ailleurs". Pourtant l'unité du monde n'a cessé de susciter toujours plus de voyageurs...

When Leibniz said that «... everywhere everything is the same as here», he was already acknowledging that there is but one humanity on Earth: there is no "elsewhere" anymore. This emergent sense of global unity has actually provided a stimulus to human travel. Humans yearn to experience and to partake in their common heritage.

La vallée de l'Aouache contient un des plus importants ensembles de gisements paléontologiques du continent africain. Les vestiges découverts sur le site, dont les plus anciens ont au moins 4 millions d'années, fournissent une preuve de l'évolution humaine qui a modifié notre perception de l'histoire de l'humanité

The Awash valley contains one of the most important groupings of palaeontological sites on the African continent. The remains found at the site, the oldest of which date back at least 4 million years, provide evidence of human evolution which has modified our conception of the history of humankind.
