With Chinese New year coming soon, I thought I will explore some Chinese dessert to make for the occasion. This Chinese Peanut Sesame Ginger brittle is something very similar to the Indian peanut chikki / brittle. Adding the ginger adds a very subtle flavor to the brittle. I have always made the brittle with jaggery and this is the first time I used sugar to make the caramel, Never thought it will be this easy to make the perfect brittle. Check the post for step by step pictures on how to make a perfect brittle in about 30 minutes.

It is Tiruvadharai / Arudhra Darshanam tomorrow and it is time to make the Kali and Ezhu kari kuzhambu. It is one of our favorites and my boys have been waiting for the day when I will be making it. Here is my recipe to make the traditional Kali. To pair with kali we make a kuzhambu with odd number of vegetables (7 mostly). Hence the name Ezhu kari kuzhambu or 7 vegetable kuzhambu. I have the recipe for that as well in the links.

And the 'Instant Pot' fever hit me as well. Made my first ever complete meal in the instant pot. I have to admit the food does taste very rich and flavorful when made in the instant pot. This quick vegetable masala bhaath is perfect for weeknights.

My Cooking Journey
Introduction
I am a very simple and fun loving person looking for new things to do everyday. Cooking is my passion and I hope to share my passion with all. I have a beautiful family which includes a very supportive husband and two "ready to try new food" boys. I come from a family with very strong culinary skills. My grandmother (paternal) was a great cook and my mother is the resource for anything cooking in my kitchen. About the blog, I would like to say that all my recipes are tried and tasted by greatest critics (My husband and kids). what you see is how the dish looks. None of my pictures are altered using any photograph software. Please do feel free to try out my recipes and pass on your comments. I would be happy to communicate with you and I am open to any suggestions/criticism from you. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Cooking !!!
