My cat Billy had gotten horrible matted fur patches. I'm a good parent, but we had just moved, and the regular brushing schedule had gotten away from me. I was worried that it would be traumatic for him. First, that the place was dog centric, and they wouldn't have experience with cats; he's 14 and never been bathed. He's hardly ever been out of the house. I didn't have much choice though, because my other cat, Rupert, had an abscess, and needed to see the vet next door at Mohawk Alley Animal Hospital. The groomer came out and introduced himself (I forget his name), assured me that he knew cats, and asked if the standard shampoo would do. It was then I realized that Billy would have to be given a bath as well, and figured I didn't have a choice but to put him through this process. He suggested a lion cut, leaving a long mane around his head, and longer on his legs and a puff on the end of his tail. When I got him home, he seemed really happy. It looked great, and he was super affectionate and slept under the covers, stretched out against me for a while that night. He loves it! Any trauma was far outweighed by the benefit. I'm definitely doing it again next year at the beginning of the summer, and am considering doing it for Rupert too.

I will always take my dogs to K9 Loft. Don't listen to the people who gave a bad review, they need to understand that dogs get into fights sometimes, it could happen in the dog park or on the street. This is the chance you take when you enter any social situation. As for veterinary care, shouldn't the owners assess their own dogs in the morning and in the evening. This is not a veterinary clinic, its a place to burn off energy and let dogs be dogs. The staff has always been attentive, they remember your dogs name, they are loving and they love dogs. When things get to rough they have water bottles and they have time outs for the canine friends who get a little to into themselves. My boxer got into it with another dog and the owner called me right away to let me know, and I really appreciated it! She's a dog, she's going to get into it sometimes, just like kids, they have good days, they have bad days. I trust this place with my furry kids, because they care, they are honest, they give them walks, they feed them and its all on the web for you to watch. 5 stars!! kudos!!

they treat my senior dog beautifully - i have always had excellent treatment at K9 Loft. never a problem and always fantastic attitudes from the staff. I've gone other places for grooming and they've hurt my dog, not so here. we give it 5 paws up!

The old reviews I've read about K-9 had given me pause (pun intended) about taking my 2 year old jack russell Sam there. But the Pasadena location is so close to home I decided to give it a shot. Sam can be a bit aggressive as all jack russells are, but there were no incidents - bites, blood or otherwise. And he was suprisingly calm when I picked him up! He had an awesome time running around with the other dogs and took a nap when we got home. The staff were always friendly and sure they pay more attention to the dogs, that's their job! Sam and I will definitely be back.

If you think your dog could use more staples or stitches and doesn't have enough bites or scars, please take him/her to K9 Loft. If you like your dog with out any wounds, I suggest you find a daycare where neglect is not the norm. My dog, a playful non aggressive whippet, in two consecutive visits was bitten while under the supervision of K9 Loft. Even after the first bite, when I requested the staff take special care with my dog to be kept away from larger more aggressive animals - He was not. In both instances I was told flatly that the attendants didn't notice anything wrong until after the event when they noticed that my puppy was bloody. The first incident I was magnanimous, understanding that even in the best most supervised facilities, accidents happen. However the second time, now, looking at my dog miserable and full of drugs I am angry that they accept more dogs into their facility than they can take care of. I am angry that both times, with bites that were large requiring 5 and 6 staples that the severity of the wounds was misrepresented to me on the phone by staff. And am concerned that the vet that K9 loft sends their wounded dogs to is the wife of one of the owners. I spoke to one of the owners at length after the second bite and he told me that dog day care facilities are not subject to any standards or any accrediting organization. This I find troubling. So with nowhere to place file an official complaint, I am taking to the internet to warn other dog owners of the negligence of this facility. I'm not taking our dogs there again. It's not safe. I hope you are careful with your dogs and find other daycare solutions. My puppy looked just fine before he didn't need six more staples near his ribs to go along with the handsome scar on his neck near his trachea.
