Ok, a new question. Am I right in believing that the True Shapeshifter power doesn't require Beast Change although the Were Form template requires you to?

Hi, I wondered if there was a FAQ or summary of the spellcasting rules in Dresden Files. I'm GM'ing a Saga set in Prauge and I find it a bit confusing. I have the help sheet but while it's helpful I would have liked somewhat more meaty explanations. :)

Thanks, some of the spellcasting blogposts managed to make it a little less confusing.

Got a note last night that I had a packet waiting for me at the post office as it was too big for my mailbox. When I picked it up today and opened it, I was temped to say like Luke "Look at the size of that thing!" ;)

Daniel måtte melde avbud på grunn av øving og innspilling av album, men mulig at Kay og Marius Johnsen kan. Hvis Frida også blir med blir vi nok...

As a sour beer fan, I had a great time with this Swiss Biere de Garde.

I'm musing on "Fate of Cthulhu". Mental consequences is easy enough but I'm wondering about the "Mythos" skill. I think that when you gain the Mythos skill (at Average) you cross off the first mental stress permanently and when you gain Mythos you cross off the next level.

In Fate Core, I've thought about treating Mythos rolls as just more difficult Lore, Contacts, and Investigate rolls. I'll have stunts like "Things man was not meant to know" to make these rolls easier. I'm considering having any shifts on these rolls cause mental stress. It would be interesting to have players spend fate points to re-roll a Mythos check that was TOO good.

How come no one told me about the Primetime Adventure Kickstarter? Don't you know I follow you so I can know about things like this? https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1801630747/primetime-adventures

Dagnabbit! I've completely given up on keeping track of all the cool stuffs happening. I'll never be able to go back to daily updates, and even then I'd basically be picking something off the pile at random, usually missing the Really Cool Thing and running with something Kinda Neat or just something that Could Be Neat Someday.

Maybe, someday, we could get a gaming news superhero team together to do regular updates on gaming things that matter for Norwegians, but my organizing glands aren't working consistently these days. I'd rather sit in a couch pretending to be an elf ninja wizard.

We tried out Fate in Forgotten Realms based on the Freeport Campaign guide and it worked great. I remember when I read it that it seemed to be a great guide to D&Dify Fate and were even more impressed with it in play. The spellcasting rules worked even better than the impression I had when reading it. I played a cleric of Lathander the other two were an illusionist and "an honest merchant I tell you!" (Thief) If someone has a realms hack I'd be interested in hearing of it.

Sweet Sune! Great to hear that. I've got nothing (yet), but love to hear how people are doing Forgotten Realms with Fate (I've got a real soft spot for FR). I, too, bought the Freeport Companion. Some sweet stuff, although I prefer Core skills and more freeform spell casting.

Tried to post this over at the forums and saw the second question I had to answer to post a new topic and thought fuck this. If there's supposed to be such threshold to posting on that forum maybe we're too insular as critics of indie games say we are.

Anyway. Saga of the Icelanders is just up my alley, especially as I'm Norwegian and the Icelanders are my distant relatives.

A playbook that seems natural in that setting is the Lawspeaker. In 930 when Iceland established its Althing and thus declared independence from Norway, the lawspeaker (lógmaðr or lógsógumaðr) would recite the law at the beginning of the thing. (Tha same system of lawspeakers were applied within the rest of the scandinavian countries and Denmark). In Iceland the lawspeaker had also a presidential role. So I think it would be a natural playbook for saga of the Icelanders.

Was pleasantly surprised to find the package of decks in my mailbox already over here in Oslo, Norway. Also surprised by the quality of the deck. Great job guys!

Ribba er på bordet. Jula kan begynne! God jul!

The Pork Rib is at the table, Christmas can begin! Merry Christmas everyone. (We Scandinavians celebrate 24th).
