The EdReach Network presents The Wilderness Classroom for Google+ #ConnectedClassrooms! Live from the Northern tundra of Minnesota for a #VirtualFieldTrip, we’re joined by Dave and Amy Freeman, wilderness explorers and dogsled guides. In this Dogsledding Adventure lesson, Dave and Amy will take us through an introduction of what it takes to be a dogsled guide, how to prepare for a trek, prepping the dogs, how the dogs live, and more! Then through the magic of #GoogleGlass, Dave will take us on a Point Of View adventure, as he jumps on a dogsled and takes us on a virtual dogsled trip! Are you ready for an adventure?

Would you like your classroom to participate LIVE in the Google Hangout? Awesome! Then please sign up to take part!

What is The Wilderness Classroom?
On Earth Day (April 22) of 2010 Dave and Amy Freeman began a three year, 11,700 mile journey across North America by kayak, canoe, and dogsled. Their goal was to use their journey as a platform for gaining support and protection for North America’s waterways and wild places, while actively engaging over 100,000 elementary and middle school students in their journey through their website and live school assemblies. Dave and Amy were selected by National Geographic as two of their Adventurers of the Year for 2014, highlighting their contributions as adventurers and educators. Now you can help decide who wins the Adventurers of the Year People’s Choice Award.
