I like Flesh Rend on these guys a lot. Stacking wounds on a party is very scary at low circle, and at high circle engaging with these kind of scrubs can make subsequent, more-threatening encounters even more difficult (which leads tot he desired conversation of "should we take these guys on or try to evade them?") The theming here is strong in a way that will stick in the player's mind. Great stuff!

So the Rank 5 ability - is that a Simple action or what? Does it act as a rider to the use of Awareness or Astral Sight?

Fastoon's Very Impressive Staff is just the best. I've never seen a sturdier or more dependable staff. The only way to increase my appreciation of that staff is if I had two of them: one grasped tightly in each hand.

Are they more like shrub-guys or treants? The name makes me think they're like ambulatory, vaguely-humanoid ferns, but I've been misled by such things before.

One thing I find pretty hilarious is the character of the various note-takers in a more Out of Character sort of way. For example, when I'm the note-taker, I usually scramble to get as many details of what the other characters are up to as possible, because it's easier to take notes when I'm not in a scene (or at least not active in a scene). As a result, my own character's actions sometimes go unrecorded, because by the time I have a chance to start recording what I just did, the other players have started doing interesting stuff again. It's an interesting tension.

Man, so much of our current situation makes more sense now. I had forgotten that we had actually found members of the Ancient Blades, and that's why my notes contained info that isn't in the journal scraps. Thanks for finding this log!

This session was also notable in that it was the first time that Bongani ended the session bone dry on karma. He'd gotten close before, but this was the first time I'd managed to spend every last die. True Shot had something to do with it, as it is basically my go-to attack talent when things get really hairy.

Your verses better rhyme. If they don't rhyme then you're a bad troubadour, and that's just a stone cold fact of reality my friend.

They're also stupid idiot monsters that should know better than to pick a fight with Mismatched Steel. Hope you like rotting under the Badlands sun, tentacle jerk!

I like this sequence. It's fun seeing you work through a problem, and getting insights into your design philosophy is super cool.
