Emmy award-winning journalist Kellie DeMarco anchors KCRA 3’s evening newscasts at 6pm & 10pm.
Since joining KCRA 3 in 2011, she has not only covered Northern California’s biggest breaking news stories; she’s also travelled the country covering national stories like the Aurora movie theater shooting and multiple Super Bowls.
Kellie comes to Sacramento from Denver, where she was the main anchor for KWGN’s evening newscast since 2007. She has worked at several television stations reporting and anchoring. Prior to KWGN, DeMarco served as a morning anchor at KRDO in Colorado Springs and at KJCT in Grand Junction, Colorado. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in both Journalism/Mass Communications and Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Kellie DeMarco received the 2013 Emmy for Best Anchor; she’s also the recipient of two Edward R. Murrow awards and multiple national AWRT (American Women in Radio and Television) awards for her reports on women’s issues.
Kellie is committed to helping find a cure for breast cancer. She’s served as honorary co-chair of the Colorado Springs chapter of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization and she continues to be active in efforts to raise awareness about breast cancer.
When she’s not on the anchor desk, Kellie enjoys playing tennis, skiing, watching football and learning how to play golf. She especially enjoys taking her basset hound Annabelle to visit kids at The Children's Hospital.
