We're throwing our favourite annual event to celebrate the Australia Day Long Weekend at Polperro.

Taste our current release Even Keel wines at the pop up cellar door, grab some snacks from Polperro Kitchen and enjoy the the tunes provided by DJ RICE-E and a special guest. To cheers Australia day , we will be selling all our wines at cellar door prices as part of your event ticket .
An all inclusive ticket at our special early bird price of $47.50 includes a Polperro Riedel Glass, a tasting of our new release Even Keel wines, 2 hearty lawn snacks prepared by Polperro Kitchen, and music from our resident DJ.

Polperro Picnics have arrived!

Enjoy an experience unlike any other on the Mornington Peninsula.

Venture out and explore the stunning Polperro vineyard grounds with a rustic and delicious Picnic. We share with you, our most treasured, hidden spaces on the Polperro property, in the heart of Red Hill. Wander down the produce garden path, past the ancient angophoras and settle in for a long lazy afternoon.

Head chef Daniel Kerekes brings his trademark style, blending of European and Asian flavours to present a modern menu. Each picnic is made using the finest quality produce sourced from the Polperro kitchen garden and local suppliers. Prepared to-order daily, each hamper is conveniently packed for guests to pick up from the Bistro, complete with quality glassware, cutlery and crockery.

Sam Coverdale’s cool climate Polperro and Even Keel wines have been carefully considered in the menu development to ensure complimentary pairings. All wine selections will be perfectly chilled upon arrival, with selected extras available, such French Champagne.

Pull out a Polperro Picnic rug or lounge in a deck chair - we’ve got everything sorted.

Internationally acclaimed Cuca Restaurant of Bali, will present an Australian Exclusive Event at Polperro Bistro this October. Reaching Australian shores for the first time, Michelin trained chef Kevin Cherkas (ex. El Bulli, Arzak, La Broche, Daniel) has teamed up with winemaker Sam Coverdale to present the Australian debut of Cuca’s unique dining experience ‘Swig & Nibble’ at the popular vineyard facing venue on the Mornington Peninsula.

THE EVENT
‘Swig & Nibble’ is one of the most unique and memorable dining events, hosted only in the most iconic venues. The event has travelled throughout Asia in Shangri-la Makati in Manila, Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Ubud and Pullman Rooftop Bar in Jakarta. This will be the first time that the event has ever been held outside South East Asia.

‘Swig & Nibble’ will take diners on a flavour- centric journey, presenting nine uniquely crafted signature bites, inventively presented and paired with Sam’s Polperro and Even Keel wines. Leading the culinary feast will be award-winning Chef and CUCA co-creator, Canadian-born Kevin Cherkas, whose super-impressive culinary resume reveals stints at three Michelin-starred restaurants in New York and Spain, including legendary El Bulli. Kevin is known as “one of the friendliest, funniest, multi-awarded and most talented young chefs in the world”.

This will be an un-missable event for any food lover. It is the only opportunity to experience Cuca’s first exclusive dining event in Australia. Limited tickets available for this sell-out event.

Winemaker Sam Coverdale has a clear focus on representing the quality and terroir of the Mornington Peninsula. Since launching his single vineyard wine label, Polperro in 2009, two vineyards, Mill Hill and Landaviddy Lane have held a very special place in his heart. Something special is produced when these vines are used to create the single vineyard Polperro wines.

We invite you to help us celebrate the release of our new vintage Pinot Noir from Mill Hill and Landaviddy Lane on Friday the 19th August 2016. Learn about Sam’s wines over dinner and get an exclusive first tasting of the yet to be released, 2014 Mill Hill and Landaviddy Lane Pinot Noir. Both of these releases are extremely limited in stock with only 1 barrel of Landaviddy and 2 barrels of Mill Hill Pinot Noir produced.

In July, Brigitte Hafner of the Gertrude St Enoteca takes charge of the Polperro Bistro Kitchen for one night only to present, The Game Dinner.

Set in the dark and moody dining space of Polperro Bistro, five rustic courses will be served to showcase locally sourced game.

Brigitte moved into a small farm in Red Hill this year and grows and collects produce for her Fitzroy Wine bar. She is excited about discovering the peninsula and the local produce available.

The dinner is all about the deep flavours of wild sourced venison and rabbit paired with winter produce from local gardens and Sam’s wines.

Winemaker Sam Coverdale in collaboration with Brigitte, has selected the wines to be paired with each course. The wines include Sam's own Polperro and Even Keel wines and some of his international favourites.

As usual, guests will be seated at communal banquet tables giving a chance to socialise with Sam during the evening.

Brigitte’s cooking celebrates her love of quality products and her relationships with some of her personal and very specific producers. Her food is unadulterated and centred upon the freshest local ingredients. Her greatest inspirations are drawn from “real food”, peasant dishes which cross many geographical borders. These humble inspirations mean each menu item Brigitte creates tells a story and is created from the heart.
Experience: Owner Gertrude St Enoteca, Epicure and Gourmet Traveller contributor, foundation years working with Neil Perry and Kylie Kwong, Guy Grossi, Jacques Reymond and Stefano de Piero.

We'll have a marquee set up and the fire pits will be roaring. Whats even better, is Sam has insisted that all our wines will be sold on the day for cellar door prices!

It's no secret that Sam Coverdale loves chardonnay, that's why this May we are hosting a wine dinner to celebrate the varietal.

The dinner will be held on the 20th May 2016 and focuses on cool climate wines. One of our favourite winemakers, Michael Dhillon from Bindi Wines, will join Sam to host the evening.  

Kicking off at 7:00pm, guests will be treated to a pre-dinner drink before settling in to enjoy a three course meal, designed by head chef Daniel Kerekes. Each course will be served with two wines, one from each producer. The first two courses will be paired with Chardonnay and the last Course with a Pinot Noir, just because Sam couldn't resist! 

As usual, guests will be seated at communal banquet tables giving a chance to socialise with the winemakers and other attendees during the evening.
