Everyone wants something in return for their hard work - everyone. That includes individuals, businesses and brands who want to see every facet of their digital strategy producing ROI. It's perfectly fine and dandy to expect ROI for content that you provide in the online community, but you need to assess what you are providing and whether it is worth monetary return or simply the reaching of an objective: more engagement, more customers, etc. Read this blog post I wrote for Limeworks on the expected outcomes of social media, monetary and otherwise. Let's talk virtual customer service and brand trust!
By Charlotte Goodwin (Media Nerd). As a business, it is reasonable to expect that when you commit time, money and effort to a cause that you should be paid for it with cold, hard cash. However, social media as an investment of time, money and effort can become a little more tricky when it comes ...

This fine example of human stupidity is working to simply perpetuate the view of Women in programming and other areas of the IT industry as a joke, or sub-par to Men in IT. Women in technology rock so hard and it's way past time we got the legitimate respect we deserve.

Feminism isn't a girls club - in fact, men are more than welcome to share our humanist views and there are MANY male feminists out there. Perhaps think of how rubbish like this affects the position of women in the industry, particularly when so many people aren't able to see past the end of their own nose.

Also, without trying to put too fine of a point on it: What the smart alec who wrote this failed to see (through their lack of multi-faceted feminist understanding) is that a true feminist programming language would be a universal language used by all sexes/genders/identities without any party being ridiculed for using it. Grow up.
